I have a hose discharging water from back . but bucket still fills up. ive checked hose for clogs ive checked pump for proper operation. ive tried to block drip spouts going to bucket that just made water leak to floor. what else could it be? thank you.

If water is coming out on the floor from your Comfort Site dehumidifier even when the bucket is not overflowing, there may be a few possible causes for this issue:

1. Improper Placement of the Bucket: Ensure that the bucket is correctly positioned and inserted into the dehumidifier. Make sure it is securely in place, and the water outlet on the bucket is aligned with the dehumidifier's drainage system. If the bucket is not properly seated or aligned, it can result in water leakage.
2. Bucket Seal or Gasket: Check the bucket's seal or gasket for any signs of damage, wear, or misalignment. If the seal is compromised or not making proper contact with the dehumidifier's body, water can escape and leak onto the floor. Clean the seal and ensure it is free from debris or obstructions. Clear the blockage and check the flow through the filter.

Check that the other end of the hose is BELOW the level of the bucket. You may have to raise the unit off the floor.

If the hose is still connected and it's not clogged, the water shouldn't have filled the bucket.But, let's get back to emptying the bucket and reinstalling it and the unit won't start.

Several things can cause the this. The first and most notable is the bucket is not installed properly. When that happens the bucket safety removal switch, does not make firm contact with the bucket when it's reinstalled. If the hose is still attached, temporarily remove it and reinstall the bucket so that it fits "squarely" from top to bottom into it's holder. Make sure that is makes firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the back wall of the bucket holder. When installed properly the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at the bottom.

The second most notable thing, is that the humidity level in the room is the same as whet you have the unit set to extract. In this case, the unit won't turn ON, until the surrounding humidity level rises. To test this, lower the humidity extraction level to 32%. If the bucket is installed properly and the Air Intake Filter is clean, the unit should start.

The problem is that either the discharge hose is clogged, to long. 48" is the standard length. In addition, the hose connector on the unit and it's interior tubing may be clogged.

The hose is easy to check for a clog. Simply remove it and either look thru it or blow thru it. If the hose is clear, the clog is in the hose connection and/or the inner drain tubing. To unclog it, do the following.

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection & tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose end, for water flow. It may take 10 minutes or more for the water to start flowing.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers.

theres a plastic knock out plug in the bucket that needs to be popped out then it will drain through the hose

superstee - You're having to empty it because either the drain hose you have connected to the unit is clogged or the drain hole a the hose connection is clogged. Therefor, the water is drained into the tank, rather than the drain hose. Also, the drain hose would not be any longer than 5' and must drain down, as the dehumidifier does not have a pump. It relies totally on gravity.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If clear check the drain hose connection, using an 18" long appropriately sized Zip Tie. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. Gingerly work past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. The while slowly pulling it out, rotate the Zip Tie. This will dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie removal, be prepared for some water to follow. CAUTION: BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE TURN THE MASTER ON/OFF SWITCH TO OFF AND UNPLUG THE UNIT.

Some dehumidifiers don't require that the bucket be in place, when a drain hose is attached to the unit. I'm not sure that's the case with yours, because I'm unfamiliar with the Westpointe brand. You should also check the drain connection that the hose is connected to. It may be clogged, which forces the water into the bucket instead of draining through the hose. If you have something flexible like a long plastic Zip Tie, that can easily be run into the hose connection and slowly pulled back out, while rotating it should loosen any clogs. Be prepared for water to follow. Do not use a wire coat hanger to do this and be sure the unit is OFF and unplugged from the wall, before attempting it.

blow some air thru the discharge line,, thats all it is the line is clogged, if the pan is filling with water, it is working but they do get clogged with dust and lint in the air,,

There must be a blockage in the hose causing the water to back up and flow into the bucket. Try pushing a flexble peice of wire through the hose to unblock it.
