Have connected wii to cable via cisco asa 5505 box. getting error code 52020. have restarted comcast modem to no effect.

Error Code: 52020 What to do will depend on how you are connecting your Wii console. Please use the info below that describes how you are connecting.
    Connecting directly to a modem:
  1. Power off the Wii. Connect the official Nintendo Wii LAN adapter to the Wii, and insert a working ethernet cable into the official Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter.
  2. Unplug all devices from your modem. Most modems are unable to support more than one device at a time.
  3. Power cycle your modem. To do this, unplug the power from your modem and let it rest for 20 seconds. Plug the power back in. Connect the Ethernet cable from your Wii console to the Ethernet port on your modem.

  4. If the connection test fails, try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP address, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, and DNS information. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings, including the settings listed above. Input these exactly as they're listed into the "Manual Setup" of the Wii console's internet connection.
  5. If you are still unable to connect and you are using broadband Internet, then your ISP likely uses PPPoE to establish a connection to their network. The Wii is not compatible with PPPoE. Contact your ISP for more assistance.

    Connecting to a router:
  1. Ensure that an Ethernet Cable is running from the WAN or Internet Port on the router to the modem. Power cycle the modem by unplugging it from the electrical outlet, waiting a moment, and then plugging it back in.
  2. Power off the Wii console, and insert the Wii LAN Adapter into one of the USB ports on the back of the Wii console.
  3. Run an ethernet cable from the Wii to a numbered port on the router.
  4. Power on the Wii console, and run a connection test through the Wii console's online settings.
  5. If the connection test fails, try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's settings on your PC:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings, including the settings listed above. Input these as they're listed into the "Manual Setup" of the Wii console's internet connection, except for the IP address. The IP address needs to be different. Add 10 to the IP address and use that number in the Wii console's settings.

Im trying to connect my wii to the internet .I have the lan adapter connected to my modem. I am not getting a connection and error code 52020 is on my screen. what am i doing wrong?

You probably have a firewall on your PC (or mac), or router preventing you from connecting to the internet, either plug the cable to the router, disable the firewall (if using a Netgear router, disable the "SPI firewall" under the "WAN setup" of your router), your Internet Service Provider or ISP might be preventing systems like the wii to connect, check with the ISP to see if they are or not.

Hi iam from sweden and i got new navi i buy yesterday nuvi 1340 and i got satalite problem it cant finde somthing gps thinks iam in stockholm but iam in gothenburg and i have been testing it waited 3...

You should shut off the nuvi (recharge if required) and take it outdoors, to an open area that has a view of the southern sky. Place it on a non-moving object and turn it back on. Allow it to get a "fix" on a satellite signal - it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes or so at this point.

If you can't get it to work still, contact Garmin Support:

The wii is unable to connect to internet

It seems that it can't establish communication to your access point.

Nintendo Forum explanation:
Wii Error Code Group: 52020, 52021, 52022
Summary: Connection difficulty with either router or modem.

If automatic configuration is not working (it expects DHCP to anser; i.e. to get an assigned IP address) try manual configuration. Enter the values as you would on your PC to connect to the network.

Consult the Nintendo Forums for detailed help.
