How to reset to factory settings for e machine T2878

Use an external memory device such as a DVD, flash drive or external hard drive to back up the data you need to save from your eMachines computer. Any data that isn't saved to an external source will be erased when the computer is restored to factory settings. Remove any discs that are in the optical drive and unplug the computer's peripheral devices, such as an Ethernet cable or scanner. Do not disconnect the keyboard, mouse or monitor. Click the Windows "Start" menu and choose "All Programs." Navigate to "eMachines" and choose "eMachines Recovery Management." Click the "Restore" tab. Click "Password Settings" if you have not already set a recovery password. Type a new password in the text box and click "OK." Click "Restore System to Factory Default." Neextech usb external hard drive enclosure

ONE SHOULD BE MASTER AND ONE SHOULD BE SLAVE .
TRY IT AS SINGLE MASTER WITH SLAVE ON
DJUST THE JUMPER SETTINGS .... QWHEN YOU MAKE AHARD DISK SLAVE THERE SHOULD NORMALLY BE NO JUMBER IN ITS SLOT.
IF THE ABOVE DOESNT WORK
MAKE THE HARD DISK A USB HARD DRIVE .. YOU GET IT FROM A COMPUTER HARD WARE STORE

ITS LIKE AN EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVE
IT WILL WORK IF YOU MAKE IT A USB DRIVE ...

CD ROM DETECTION PROBLEM

LEAVE YOU hard drive on primary master port on your main board set as master or single drive ( IF YOU HAVE A STATA HARD DRIVE THEN DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT PART)

SET YOUR FIRST DRIVE AS MASTER
SET THE SECOND AS SECONDARY
use the jumber in the back of the drive to set them the propper setting is labeled on the drive it self

Connect them to the secondary port on your motherboard
so you should have

HARD DRIVE - MASTER OR SINGLE *jumper settiing* connected to the primary port on your main board

DRIVE 1 = MASTER *jumper settiing*
DRIVE 2 = SLAVE *jumpersetting*
connected to the secondary port on your mother board

IF YOU HAVE A SATA HARD DRIVE FORGET THE PARTS ABOUT HARD DRIVES ABOVE
i assumed you had a IDE hard drive

JUST USE THE SETTINGS FOR THE DRIVES and it should work :)
