SOURCE: No sound from my Logitech headset when on SKYPE
Maybe you need to select which Audio device you are using within Skype. It the Settings under Audio you should be able to select the default audio device that Skype talks to. If you set it to the USB headset, it might work properly.

Have you tried changing the Audio Device that windows is using?
Under the Sound and Audio Devices in the ontrol Panel. Under the Audio tab, try the Default Device under Sound playback. Change this to the headphones.

I don't have these headsets here and the setup to troubleshoot for your fault. But, I have an opinion.
It seems that the driver for the headset is not routing the sound from the net or other applications to the USB ports, as like with the sound from the media player.
For IE, look in the advanced settings for media and see if there is a setting for this. Also, check out all the media settings in the system for this.
I would search out the properties of the headset to see if there is a setting for this. Also search out the properties of the sound card where it allows for USB and regular sound sharing or routing.
I would also get in touch with the manufacture of this headset to find out if they know something or have a solution.

Hi Itsyen,
go to start menu, control panel, sound.
Then here go into the Tabs and select the Headset as Mic and Speakers.
Apply,
Done !
Thanks and have a nice day
