Mac OSX v10.5.8 Logitech Headset M/N: A-0356A I've had this headset for a couple of years with no problems, but it recently stopped working-- no sound in the headset. Also, when I go to System Preferences: Hardware: Sound: The driver does not show up in either list of input or output (and it used to.) Note I recently added a Wacom Tablet as an input device. Could this be a possible conflict? Please advise.

SOURCE: No sound from my Logitech headset when on SKYPE

Maybe you need to select which Audio device you are using within Skype. It the Settings under Audio you should be able to select the default audio device that Skype talks to. If you set it to the USB headset, it might work properly.

SOURCE: Logitech USB headset no sound

Have you tried changing the Audio Device that windows is using?
Under the Sound and Audio Devices in the ontrol Panel. Under the Audio tab, try the Default Device under Sound playback. Change this to the headphones.

SOURCE: logitech usb headset a-0356a trouble hearing

I don't have these headsets here and the setup to troubleshoot for your fault. But, I have an opinion.

It seems that the driver for the headset is not routing the sound from the net or other applications to the USB ports, as like with the sound from the media player.

For IE, look in the advanced settings for media and see if there is a setting for this. Also, check out all the media settings in the system for this.

I would search out the properties of the headset to see if there is a setting for this. Also search out the properties of the sound card where it allows for USB and regular sound sharing or routing.

I would also get in touch with the manufacture of this headset to find out if they know something or have a solution.

There's a distinct crackling sound on my Headset. What can I do?

I have the same problem, but only in Windows, and only on my laptop (It's a Compaq 515). I do not get the problem if I pair it with my phone, or if I plug the receiver into any of my other computers. The big thing is: If I reboot into Linux, the noise stops.

My recorder isnt working

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. The recording feature of your electronic device isn't working properly? You should try turning the volume up on the microphone so it can pick up your voice clearer when talking. If you still can't playback any recordings, check the volume settings of your device on your computer. This is located in the Control Panel (Windows) and the System Preferences (MAC OS) applications of your computer. Go into your operating system's preferences and increase the microphone volume. You may also need to select your headset device as the default recording device (Windows) or the Output Device for recording (MAC OS). If you want my opinion, I think your headset device is not set as the default recording device. If you don't have a headset as the default recording device or output recording device, you can turn the volume up to the maximum setting and you still won't be able to record anything because the computer has another device (if any microphones are installed in the PC) as its default or output recording device. That's why it's important to check your system preferences for a headset to make sure it has the proper settings. I hope you understand this solution and that you can record audio on your headset. I am using the Logitech A-0356A headset. I can hear windows sounds, but I lose the sound in IE and programs, games and incoming voice in ventrilo. This just started recently, I have had the headphones for...

sounds like issues with the codec of the sound card may be interfering with program communicating with other devices, uninstall your sound card and try rebooting the pc. if the sound card is having issues then reinstalling should clear them up.

if issue persists look into updating the sound card drivers through the pc manufacturers websight.
