My webcam is not shown in my computer - Creative Labs WebCam Live!

Plug it in and follow the steps shown belew:
1.right click on the My Computer icon then select Manage.
2.click on Device Manager
3.click on imaging devices
4.click on your "webcam"
5.right click update driver.

One of the two:

1. The driver is absent or not compatible with your software
2. The hardware of both machines "don't like" each other (protectionism)

Enter the code shown and click on "Download This Driver for Your Device from Open Drivers" then download the file. Save it to your computer, run and install it properly!

Please open the Web Cam application provided by acer and make sure that the lighting in the room is optimum for the Webcam. If the issue persists, please uninstall the Web Cam Application and Driver then restart the computer. Now re-install the Web Camera Application and Drivers provided by Acer.

Check your Direct X loaded OK
I am currently on version 11
Hold down the Windows key - with the flag - and press R
Type..... dxdiag...... in the open box, and then click OK
Run through the tabs checking the 'notes' windows for information
The version will be shown on the 'Systems' tab

In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to download Microsoft DirectX 9 or later to support your webcam

Procedure
Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software
Disconnect your webcam
Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer
Restart computer
Download the Installation package from Logitech
Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must.
Connect your webcam when prompted.

HP typically requires you to use RealPlayer to use the webcam on their laptops. Also, try double-clicking on the Computer icon, and then looking in there to see if there's an icon for your webcam. If there is, then double click that to access your webcam. The webcam icon isn't always shown after double-clicking the computer icon in every laptop.

to turn off the webcam:
1. right click on taskbar and selct task manager from the edit menu.
2. go to processes, right click on a term similar to webcam.
eg. VCM
3. press end process on edit menu and click yes.

to disable and enable the webcam can be found in a list under task manager under services

Open webcam, right click on image shown and copy it to somwhare else

I e-mailed the company and they gave me an answer. It works because the manual that comes with the camera doesn't tell you how to put the camera in Web Mode. This is a strait copy and paste of their answer:



Please note that you will have to set the camera to PC Camera mode before using the webcam function.

1. Press POWER/MENU.

2. Press FLASH/SET or

3. Press POWER/MENU to select the icon shown on the LCD.

4. Press or to select the icon shown on the LCD.


5. Press FLASH/SET or. .

Connect the camera to your computer. Open webcam enabled application, such as Instant Messenger or Net meeting. Position the came.
