Shortly after end of 1 year warranty, KEMS378SSS04 began displaying F6E0 Lost Communication on lower over UI (not on the microwave). Turning power off/on (multiple times required sometimes) fixes the problem temporarily for hours or weeks, but the problem always returns. 1) When the problem occurs, the oven light still works. Power at the lower oven manager and lower oven user interface harness connections tests good (12VAC blue/yellow). Power from the user interface transformer tests good. 2) Ground at breaker panel, wall junction box, and oven appear good. All connections to oven manager, user interface, touch pad, and transformer appear good. All electronic components appear in good condition. 3) Replacing lower oven manager and lower oven user interface boards made no difference. 4) Replacing upper wiring harness between lower oven manager and lower over user interface boards made no difference. 5) Replacing the UI power transformer made no difference. 6) L1 and L2 filters test ok except that L2 has high resistence between terminals 3 and 4 instead of 660-700 per KitchenAid diagnostics. A new L2 filter tests the same, so KitchenAid disgnostics appear wrong. Components not replaced yet: 1) Touch pad 2) L1 and L2 filters 3) Microwave oven manager, user interface, and WIDE boards 4) Fuses and thermostats 5) Lower wiring harness Not yet tried: 1) Contract a licensed electrician to verify grounding again 2) Replace the lower oven manager and user interface boards again in case the first replacement parts were bad Anyone have experience with F6E0 on this or similar models? How was the problem resolved? What should be the next step?

Thanks for trying to be helpful, but I am looking for actual repair experience. I am familiar with the tech manual and updates, although what you posted is outdated.

Please do not post tech manuals, service bulletins, or something else you googled. I am looking for someone with actual repair experience of F6E0 on a KitchnAid oven.

Last night I saw the lights in the house flicker momentarily... This morning, I turned the oven on, set it to Bake and within a few seconds, the control panel reported error code "F6 E0" then shut the oven off. The control panel also reported "Lost communication...". I read on another site that this code may require replacing the control panel itself. Apparently, the momentary power fluctuation wasn't large enough to damage the electronics (since the control panel still works), but was significant enough to confuse the electronics controlling the oven. To fix the oven, I simply turned the 30 AMP breaker for the oven off for about 5 minutes. When I turned it back on, the oven worked just fine. Solution #1 recommends taking off the control panel, which voids the warranty. It's more likely that it was fixed just by cycling power to the oven via the breaker. if this does not help tell me so that we can proceed next,

Hi,

Below is the complete instruction sheet.

You are having a communication error between the appliance. Here is the actual tech manual instructions for that code:

PROCEDURE: Before proceeding, press OFF, OFF, START to enter Diagnostic

mode and verify the error codes. Ensure AM software, UI software and EEPROM

CHECKSUM versions appear on the lower text line. If AM software and EEPROM

versions do not appear, UI and AM may not be communicating. Verify this for the

lower oven UI and for the microwave (upper oven) UI. The lower oven UI will show

the AM software version for the lower oven appliance manager, and the microwave

UI will show the AM software and EEPROM versions for the microwave appliance

manager.

If the lower oven UI is not displaying the AM software version, go to UI IS NOT

DISPLAYING AM SOFTWARE VERSION.

If the upper oven UI is not displaying the AM software and EEPROM versions,

go to UPPER OVEN UI IS NOT DISPLAYING THE AM SOFTWARE AND

EEPROM VERSIONS.

If lower oven UI and microwave UI are both displaying an error, go to LOWER

OVEN UI AND MICROWAVE UI ARE BOTH DISPLAYING AN ERROR.

UI IS NOT DISPLAYING AM SOFTWARE VERSION:

A. Unplug oven or disconnect power.

B. Open the back panels and make sure the P6 and P2 connectors are fully

inserted on the appliance manager and on the lower oven user interface board.

- If they are not plugged in, plug in connectors and go to step F.

- If they are plugged in, go to step C.

C. Visually inspect all wires between P6 on the appliance manager and P2 on the

lower user interface.

- Make sure wires are not cut or pinched.

- If the wires appear to be intact, perform a continuity check between

P6-1 of the appliance manager and P2-1 of the user interface board.

Complete for P6-2(AM) to P2-2(UI), P6-4(AM) to P2-4(UI) and P6-5(AM) to

P2-5(UI). All the measurements made should be less than 5 ?. If any of

these measurements exceeds 5 ?, go to step E.

D. Replace the appliance manager. Ensure all connectors are properly inserted.

E. Replace the wiring harness (signal). Ensure all connectors are properly inserted.

F. Replace all parts and panels before operating.

G. Plug in oven or reconnect power.

H. Observe for longer than 1 minute to determine if error has been repaired.

I. If error does not appear, initiate a bake cycle. Let the cycle run for at least

1 minute.

- If no error occurs, cancel the cycle, the problem has been repaired.

- If error occurs again, restart the troubleshooting procedure at step A.

At step D, replace the lower oven user interface board if appliance

manager has already been replaced.
- If both are replaced the problem has been repaired.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hoover oven hoc3e3158IN, isn't working.

The error code "8888" on your Hoover oven HOC3E3158IN indicates a communication error between the electronic control board and the user interface panel. This can happen due to a power surge or a fault with the control board or the panel.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Turn off the power to the oven by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker for a few minutes, then turn it back on. (Which you have already done of course). I am just going through the logical steps.
2. Check the wiring connections between the control board and the user interface panel to ensure they are secure and free from damage or corrosion.
3. If the wiring connections are fine, you may need to replace either the control board or the panel. You can try contacting Hoover's customer support or a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.
4. If the oven is still under warranty, you may be able to get a free repair or replacement.
It's important to note that tampering with the oven's electronic components can be dangerous and may void your warranty, so it's best to seek professional help if you're not familiar with electrical repairs.

Hi. How can I fix error F6E6?

We bought this oven too for our newly renovated home, we used it for six days before it failed due to an electronic error (F6E6: Appliance Manager 1 Board Communication). After a failed warranty repair attempt and multiple phone calls/complaints we eventually got Whirlpool to agree to give us a new oven. We had to wait six MONTHS for this new oven to arrive due to it being out of manufacture. Our second oven arrived and worked for 8 weeks until this weekend, it failed again with an F6E6 error! Now to try and get it repaired replaced!

There is obviously something wrong with the electronic design or poor-quality components are being used. We strongly recommend you do not buy this oven.

We bought a matching combi oven from the same range which means we have to stick with this oven or we will end up with ovens that don't match in a brand new kitchen!

Ned's to know witch relay to replace wich f8 problem

Hi there! Typically for such an error code, F8 or F80, there is a communication error between the UI (User Interface) and the control board (often the microwave control board). Yes you have a microwave control board in a double wall oven. This will require either the main control board or the UI board being replaced by a professional for safety reasons. I would suggest to contact a professional that partners with your manufacturer. Contact your manufacturer first to see if there are any known issues or a limited warranty for your model.

We installed kitchen aid microwave convection oven model kems308. it is displaying error code F6E0, "Lost communication". Any idea on how to fix?

Turn the power to the oven off. It usually is not possible to unplug the power chord for the built-in appliances so go to the main switch board and just turn off the oven power for about 5 minutes and then turn on the switch. The error code should disappear. Mine did!

Kitchen Aid ovens - error codes

The F-3 error code typically means you have sensor problem. The sensor is usually mounted in the oven space up near the top of the unit. The first thing to do is turn off the circuit breaker to the oven. Do you have an ohm meter? I suggest if you don't to purchase one. They are relatively inexpensive. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend. Disconnect the sensor from the electronic control and measure the resistance. There should be a wiring diagram in the top of the unit that will help you to locate the sensor wires. Most sensors should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If sensor reads as an open circuit or has a very high resistance, it must be replaced. If instead it reads very low, then there is a short in the wiring. Some units have a fuse in series with the sensor. Check to see that the fuse has not blown.
