Dirt Devil easy steamer is leaving my carpet soaked wet! I don't have a manual for it so I'm not sure if there's anything missing. But I put the water and cleaning solution in the white tank, then I turned both switches on and pressed the blue button in the handle. Am I doing something wrong? It won't extract the water, it only makes it wet!

Thank you for responding to my question. I should have spent some time really looking at my little machine. It wasn't hard to figure out -once I found and read the back of the cleaning solution bottle and tried my luck following the water to cleaner ratio.. Opening, adding the cleaning solution and water and re-closing the reservoir was pretty easy. Everything worked out fine...and my carpet is...spotless. Thank you, Cmarie

Below is a link to dirt devil. just put in your model# for the manual.
However most cleaners you buy give you the cleaner to water ratio on the bottle. Also you do not need to use Dirt Devil cleaner. All carpet cleaning solution are pretty much the same aside from the fragrance. The best ratio that I have found is approximately 5oz of cleaner for every gallon of water. Make sure you use hot water. Using cold water or waiting to long to use the mixture can reduce the efficiency of the cleaner.
