It seems to me that all the problems that you are having are down to a loss of audio card drivers for your model.they may have been corrupted or simply deleted accidentally. If you go to this manufacturers link below and input your model, then search for the sound card and drivers, down load and install, it should sort the problem out.

Download Belarc Advisor - it will identify the sound card (under "Multimedia") http://www.download.com/Belarc-Advisor/3000-2094_4-10007277.html

Then you can search the driver for that particular sound card.
