I restored an iphone 3g via itunes and then tried to start it. it is stuck in emergency mode and shows the itunes connect logo's and at the top of the screen there is a lock logo in a locked position. It doesn't matter what I do itunes simply does not recognise the iphone so its stuck.

Your phone is locked kindly go to the mechanic and opened the lock , if your cell phone is unlocked then only you can use other wise your phone is gone bad

put your iphone on the a/c charger and press and hold the power and home buttons until you see the apple logo come up. it will then boot up again. if it stops at the logo then you will need to restore the software, use DFU mode to restore, How to enter iPhone DFU mode
Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes
Turn the iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone)
Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button
Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected
First power off your iphone and restart it does it start normally or not.
Secondly restart your iphone without connecting to computer. so remove usb cable and restart your iphone ipod or ipad. Even though iphone stuck all logo and itunes and usb symbol then it is a issue of original sim

Try to restore in dfu mode
-plug iphone into itunes

-After 10 seconds release the power button. keep holding the home button until itunes shows up with a message that says "itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode"
-click "ok" and restore as usual
