Depending on your water quality it will not steam...add some salt to the water and then it will work...

you add vicks petroleum paste/jelly at the top where the air vent is. Add 1-2 tablespoons of salt with tap water in the tank, plug in the unit and warm steam will produce.

Did you add the recommended amount of salt?

a lot of times you must add a little salt for them to work..it depends on the mineral content of yor water

Add salt. No more then 1/2 to 3/4tps max depending on the mineral content in your area.

The unit has two electrodes dipped into the water. Since water its self is none conductive without heavy minerals such as iron and such. You will have to add a small amount of salt until current starts flowing between the electrodes. I suggest a small pinch of salt each try until it produces the steam effect you desire.

Is the water in your area soft? If so, add a few pinches of salt. Vaporizers boil the water by running electricity through it. If your water is too soft, no electricity and therefore no steam.

If you have hard water, and the unit must be cleaned, try soaking it in vinegar.

No salt, unless you had 0 steam - to stop water spit, throughly clean the water tank, just as clean as new. It will work like new if the tank is as clean as new! I dont know where the small particles of dirt come from, but trust me, I just went thru this with mine, it's got dirt in it!

Have you tried adding salt to the water in the vaporizer? Sometimes the water needs to minerals for the humidifier to work...I add sea salt to mine every time I fill it.
