Kenmore dehumidifer not working. odel251.50501010

I would suspect the cooling coils have leaked the freon and aren't cooling enough to condense the humidity into water. These units aren't really made to repair unless it's a switch or humidity sensor. The cost to have the leak fixed and freon reloaded would exceed just buying a new unit.

How do you add more freon?

Make sure the thermostat sensing tube is in it's place first. The thestat can be faulty too. The likely hood of Freon leaking is remote but possible. You need a whole bunch of special equipment to find the leak, repair it and recharge the system.

LG air conditioner water full LP1111WXR

There's a plug on the back of the unit. It's located in the center at the very bottom down near the a/c power cord. Take your unit outside or somewhere that the water can spill out. Remove the cap and pull the black rubber plug out. Let the water drain and replace the plug and cap.

DEHUMIDIFER COILS FREEZE OVER, WHETHER MACHINE IS RUNNIG ON LOW OR HIGH. FILTERS ARE ALL CLEAN.

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF, unplug the unit and allow it to thaw out completely. You may want to put some old towels under it, to absorb the dripping water. Once it has completely thawed, remove the bucket, the air intake filter and the face of the cabinet. You should now have access to the coils. Clean them with a mild soap and warm water. Rinse and thoroughly dry the coils. Once they are totally dry, spray a very light film of WD40 on the coils and then wipe off any over spray. Reinstall all the remove parts and test the unit.

Keep in mind, if you are using the dehumidifier in a basement, the air temperature at floor level is colder than at chest level. Dehumidifiers don't work well between 40 & 60 degrees F. (Unless, they are a low temp unit). Any lower, the coils will freeze. Raise the unit up off the floor onto a sturdy table or counter top, that can hold the weight of the unit plus, a full tank of water. In a basement application, doing usually solves the problem of freezing coils.

If after doing all the above, the coils still freeze during operation, the compressor may below on freon and needs to be recharged. Or the defrost sensor on the unit, needs to be replaced.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Unit runs but no water in storage tank

Make sure conditions are not too cold or too dry already.
Is the compressor running?
Set the unit to the continuous run setting or the dryest setting
compressor should start.
If compressor runs but the evaporator doesn't get cold the freon has
leaked out.
If compressor doesn't run no matter what you do the board may be bad.
Also the fan must blow air.

Unit Runs (fan and condenser) but no water?

By condenser I assume you mean the compressor is running. Is there ice forming on the front coil?

No water in tank

have you turned them off, waited a long time, and restarted? if yes, but still problem, both have developed freon leaks. the coils may have "frozen over", verified by looking at them-do they appear frosty? caused by humidistats that are not functioning properly (starting to corrode)...try turning down the stats to allow motors to rest (and frost to melt)

Everything works, but does not collect water

I have the same dehumidifer - make and model. I bought it less than a year ago. It too runs fine, but now collects no water. Did you ever discover how to fix the problem?
