I'VE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM FOR MONTHS - SOMETIMES THE MONITOR WILL BE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND OTHERS IT WILL NOT COME BACK ON NO MATTER WHAT I DO. HOWEVER, I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM AND THUS A SOLUTION AND IT ACTUALLY DIDN'T COST ME ANYTHING.

MY CPU DOES NOT HAVE A VGA OUTPUT SO I WAS GOING TO GO BUY A VGA/DVI CABLE ADAPTER BUT INSTEAD I FOUND A VGA/DVI ADAPTER IN THE BOX THAT MY COMPUTER CAME IN. I ATTACHED IT TO THE DVI CABLE THAT I ALREADY HAVE AND PLUGGED THE DVI END INTO MY CPU (SINCE IT ONLY HAS A DVI AND NO VGA OUTPUT) AND THEN THE VGA ADAPTER END INTO MY MONITOR AND WA LA... IT WORKS NOW AND HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT GOING TO SLEEP.

WHAT I IMAGINE IS HAPPENING IS THAT THE DVI OUTPUT ON THE MONITOR IS FAULTY - EITHER FROM THE FACTORY OR THE PINS HAVE BEEN DAMAGED SO MY CABLE WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. IN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW DVI CABLE AND IT STILL DIDN'T WORK SO I KNEW IT WAS NOT THE CABLE. THAT NEW CABLE WAS RETURNED TO THE STORE FOR A REFUND!

Actually, had to install a new video card to my CPU a few months later. But, it was only about $70 instead of hundreds to replace my computer and the countless hours involved in setting things up again on a new system. East install, took old video card out and clicked new one in.

Make sure that everything is connected to the monitor properly. Go to the back of it and make sure the VGA or DVI cables are secured and then check the back of the computer to do the same.

Hp lcd w2007 moniter keeps going to sleep. Please help!

Check the power saving option of your computer. You can find it under the Control Panel. Just look for Power Option then Turn off monitor. Just set it to never or the time you want your monitor to be on.

Hope that works for you.
I'll appreciate the feed back and the thumbs up.
Thanks.

Monitor doesn't turn on correctly

disconnect all the cables except the power cable and then turn the monitor on you would see a test screen if it still happens your monitor is faulty and better buy a new one as repairing is usually expensive .
also check the warrenty its usually 3 years
