I am having a problem with my g1 screen, it was dead so it shuts down by itself then when i turned it on it has black screen. is there any solutions for this?

the best solution is to hard reset, follow the instructions bellow
1. Turn the G1 off. If it's frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.

2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.

Now to wipe the device clean:

3. Press Alt+L.

4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.

5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.

The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.

i dont think theres a virus my phone does that all the time just take the battery out and the sim card and put them back in and turn the phone on

man check it with a new battery or it may b posible that ur fone s/w is crrupet which need to reinstall by a expert .

please check the battery terminals and be sure that it makes,and you can use a soft cloth and clean the terminals.

remove the battery, put in the battery, turn on device. There is a tab to remove the back cover of the device and get at the battery, With the keyboard open it is on the left near the edge of the device. push down.

Mine has done exactly the same, and they wont fix it, they told me it was water damage!! but i have actually found, that if u turn it onto areoplane mode then turn it off and on then off areaoplace mode it works!! i really hope iv helped im so glad mine is ok for the next 10mins lol
