No lights inside or in water/ice dispenser as well as water/ice dispenser not working

The dimming light indicates a power loss in the system.

Your problem may be with the dispenser electronic control board. This is an issue that should be handled by an appliance service company.

check the door in the dispenser if moisture is condensing and freezing so that the door won't open try manually popping the door open just before you attempt to dispense ice, maybe you'll get lucky, otherwise your going to have to get a technician to come and check the micro-switch for the dispenser

We will need to check the voltage at the auger motor while depressing the dispense switch. If all the other features work on the dispenser panel while I would consider checking the voltage going to the motor. Some auger motors are in areas where water causes the voltage to be shorted by constant moisture. We will need to remove the panel and simulate what you have done on the outside but this time we need to see if the voltage has been altered or if the auger motor itself is defective. Sea Breeze

Problem is the circut board in the back, you can go to ge appliances.com go to service and support type in model# go to unit and main board parts to order.

Could be the connector at the bottom of the freezer door corroded but it could also be the main PCB failing as the low voltage power supply may be dropping out . By the 'light inside' do you mean in the dispenser or inside the fridge ??

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.

I am currently experiencing the same problem. It happen when I pressed the rapid cool button on the inside of the fridge and the temperature went down to 36 degree F. I assume that my water line is frozen. As soon as we use up some of the food in the fridge, I'm going to clean out the fridge and let the temperature rise, hopefully thawing the blockage. This is the only thing that I can think of.

So your not getting water from the dispenser either??? Yes the water filter can be the source of your problem. Let me know if the water is coming from the dispenser.
