Batteries are good because i tested them with other inverter that I have. Basically the answer i received is almost identical what it says in the manual. Couple weeks ago I heard a pop in the inverter. I have advance knowledge about electronics. I have inverter all open looking for something burned like a popped capacitor, but they all look and measure fine. I was wondering if anybody seen this problem with this inverter? Can it also be low voltage transformers that burned inside. There is a burned smell inside one of the buses ( negative side), but I cannot pinpoint the source. Is it possible to get service manual on this unit. Xantrex do not provide any support on this unit anymore as they were discontinued. Any input would be greatly helpfull.

I have smoked two 3.0 inverters turns out there was a short between the Common (White) and the ground in the Gen I was using to charge the batteries. The inverter has no protection for this problem and will burn up and never blow a fuse. I am talking with Xantrex to see if they will reolace my inverter as it is brand new. There should be some sort of fuse that blows or it should shut down with an error code to show this problem before the unit blows up!

Error Code 207 - Internal DC Bus voltage low.

  • Temprary condition caused by low battery voltage in conjunction with an overload condition.
  • Internal fault.
  1. Check if battery is OK (see error code 002).
  2. Disconnect AC and DC power to the PROsine. Reconnect DC and AC power after 15 minutes. If the problem persists, contact Statpower Customer Service.
  3. Contact Statpower.

Error Code 002 - Battery Voltage is too low.
  • Discharged battery.
  • Old or faulty battery.
  • Battery cables to the PROsine Inverter-Charger are too small, too long, or there is a loose connection.
  1. Charge battery.
  2. Check if battery can hold the charge by measuring the Voltage at the battery terminals when the battery discharging.
  3. Check cables.
If all else fails, maybe your battery has a dead cell, or worse. Try replacing the battery, or replace the inverter/charger.

Hi dominas,

The 207 error code description is "Internal DC Bus voltage low". It is often caused by a temporary condition caused by low battery voltage in conjunction with an overload condition. You might have tried the steps below, but please try it again.

1. Check if the battery can hold the charge by measuring the Voltage
at the battery terminals when the battery is discharging. If not, you have a faulty battery and needs to be replaced.

2. Check cables. Check if there is a loose connection. The cables that you're using are too small or too long.

If it didn't resolve the error, it is an internal fault and needs to be serviced. You may return it to the place of purchase or contact the reseller. They are the only one that can diagnose the internal fault.

Hope it helps.

Xantrex model rs2000. just purchased used. owner said all worked. got wired up, charger does not operate, shows no external power source, (led not lit). checked power to unit, at 119-123 acv.. inverter...

If it shows NO external source, then this is most likely the best place to look to find out why not?

Now above is a link that show you how to troubleshoot an AC inverter. Now below, there is a service manual, here at the back, is a factory troubleshooting chart that will be beneficial to you.

The Biggest problems with Inverters is Flat/Low/Bad batteries, Sometimes it pays to remove the batteries and charge then up remotely, and then replace them, fully charged, Now a fully charged 12 volt battery should have 13.8 V DC at the terminals with NO LOAD. If the battery only reads 12 V it is not properly charged.

Inverting side working fine but charger is not

I had a similar problem at work yesterday.when your charger switches of it assumes that the battery is fully charged, while it is not.this is the solution , switch on you inverter machine and allow it to run, while it is running use a direct current "dc" multi meter a test the voltages of the batteries any one that drops like 3 volts below the normal voltage is bad. Change it and you will notice that the problem will stop. Note that when a battery is bad it takes little time to get it charged than when it is in a good condition .

Xantrex 458 freedom....has stopped charging house batteries off of engine alternator. Alternator is showing that it works (dash gauge). It does charge while on shore power or generator....but not charging...

Fis\rst of all is the inverter supplying 120 VAC? when turned on?. If so the inverter seems to be working.I think your problem is in the truck alternator/charging system. The inverter is independent of this charger..

Xantrex Freedom 458 Combi inverter/charger 2000 watt

OK my 2000 Discovery does the same thing. Try and hit the inverter charger with your fist 3-4 times, then listen and see if the charger fan starts up. I will be bringing my inverter to Portland this week to have the tech look at it. The other thing is it could be the transfer switch. Will let you know.
