Xbox picture gets cut off on the sides

While playing Xbox the TV (I assume) stretches the picture so that it cuts some of the sides off. For example, while playing Madden I can't see some of the audible boxes on the left and right side of screen. It's like the TV is zooming in on the video game picture too closely. It's a clear picture, just cuts off the sides. Often the picture will start off OK, but after playing for a few minutes it starts to zoom in.

Could also be the Xbox or the S-video connection.

Yes, changing to 'Panorama' from whatever it is on when I watch TV helped.

Try fiddling with the tv menu. most tvs have the zoom function now and also the ratio function. try testing those configurations starting from the default. make sure you have the zoom function set at 0 before fiddling with the ratio aspect.

Hi, I have an LG RZ-20A70 TV and when i watch TV or play xbox the side are cut off the screen. (think its the picture ratio) any idea how to change this? as i have tried everything!

yes it is a picture ratio issue .
You need to look for the main menu tv setup button, its green on my lg remote .
Once you select this you should have an option to change screen ratio to 16.2 or wide screen if your tv supports wide screen .
Look for a little tv icon on screen and select that ,this should get you to pic set .

My xbox cuts on abut wont connect

I'm thinking bad AV cable or bad port on your TV. I assume the Xbox dash board won't come up, if so the "no signal" message is a TV error message not an Xbox error message.

Try a different port on the TV and/or a different TV; also try a different AV cable.

Good luck. Please rate, thanks.

My kids were playing with the buttons on the tv, and itseems like the picture is now "stretched" vertically - the tops of heads are cut off, and it seems like some of the picture is missing from the sides....

there should be a zoom, or strech, or even the letterbox option somewhere. What your describing is a enlarged picture that doesn't fir the screen, like if I select zoom on my remote.

My picture looks funny on all four sides.

its due to the faulty convergence. the stk convergence ic on the main board which controls the picture alignment is faulty and needs to be replaced to solve this problem.any tv technician will do it for you at a very negligible cost. nothing to worry.thanks.

Screen is cutting off the sides

That is an ITC008 chassis and the problem you're referring to is called a breathing picture. One fault I am aware of in this chassis/model is the connector Bl103. I have seen a couple where the connector failed and had to be replaced. Could open it up and locate the conntector and see if it's vibration sensitive.
