I replaced my printer with HP C410 all-in-one. I am not able to print out envelopes from my print shop deluxe version 22. The printer does print out microsoft word documents with no problems. I would appreciate any help you can provide to cure this problem. I do rely on my print shop program for many things. Thank you in advance for your time and trouble.

I have re-installed the software for the printer (HP C410)and also Printshop deluxe version 22. The same problem still exists. The printer requires the envelopes to be placed on the right side of the feed tray. When I do this then nothing is printed on the envelope. I guess that the ink is just squirted inside the printer. I used a sheet of paper to verify that the printer does indeed print but only from the left side of the feed tray. When printing does happen then the print starts about 2 inches in from the edge of the envelope and then part of the printing occurs off the envelope.

The printer will print envelopes correctly from microsoft word. The printer will print, correctly, greeting cards, business cards, etc. But it will NOT print printshop envelopes correctly. The envelopes MUST be place in the input tray on the right side. When I choose the right side for envelope placement, printshop prints on the left side. I discovered this by printing the envelope information on a regular sheet of paper.

Hi.
you should try this even if it is different version and the printer.

First design your envelope in Print Shop

Now before printing anything go to the CONTROL PANEL on your computer (start > control panel, works)

In the control panel (CLASSIC VIEW) find your PRINTER ICON double click find your printer in the list, right click, choose properties, find PRINTER PREFERENCES button at the bottom of the new window and left click, make sure that the tab labeled "FEATURES" is selected. In the "RESIZING OPTIONS" box there is a drop down menu that probably says letter by default, select the down arrow and highlight and click "CUSTOM", Here you will give your envelope a name like 'Envelope Invitation' then you will add the size in either inches or millmeters. Once you are sure the names is what you want and the size is correct first click on the SAVE button by NAME and then click OK. Now click OK in the Features window. And click OK in the printer preferences window. Close your Printers and Faxes Window.

BACK TO PRINT SHOP
maximize Print Shop again and your envelope that you were designing should be there. NOW, select either the print icon or File>Print, Next click on SETUP Where you see the PAPER drop down select the down arrow to select the proper paper. Your newly named envelope should be in the list, choose it, NOW DON'T FORGET TO ALSO CHOOSE SOURCE=MAIN TRAY. If you don't click that you might print it on photo paper, I always do that.

Please accept if it is successfully done

Regards

Hi

You printer is capable of printing envelopes, make sure you are putting the envelope on the correct envelope feeder. Refer to your printers manual on how to load envelope on envelope feeder which have a maximum of 15 envelopes only .Envelope texture and thickness varies as well. Try switching other brand of envelope.

When printing envelopes with this printer you must change the paper type in the HP Solution Center / Settings / Print Settings / Printer Settings before loading it - you must specify the type of paper used (envelope), the size and the printing orientation (the layout). You must also make sure you are using the correct paper - the envelopes accepted are the ones that have a 20 to 24 lb. standard weight: more or less and the printer will refuse them.

The settings in the printer do not match the settings in Print Shop Pro:
1 - change the setting in the printer properties: in the Resizing Option select custom.
2- change the setting in PSP: in Setup first open Paper and in there select the envelope then in Source select Main Tray.

Printing envelopes

You may have to go into the printer properties and change the size in the paper size drop down list, Your printer thinks that you are trying to print the envelopes on standard size sheet of paper, if you change that to the 6x9 in the printer properties it should work for you now, If it don't just write back here and we will try something else.
