Replacing the batteries - Using the tip of a ball-point pen, press the battery door lock to open the battery compartment - Using your finger, press the battery release - Remove the batteries and replace with new batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction - Slide the battery door in until it snaps in place

I cannot get the battery compartment open on my HM3. Need to see a picture of correct way to open the compartment so the plastic does not break. Otherwise do not recommend Braun's.

Question edited for clarity, and spelling 'brain' to Braun, and 'thermoter' to thermometer, 'comes in' to comes on..

There are some ideas here, but it sounds faulty and needs warranty return or repair.

Braun Thermoscan 6022 is not switching on. Used it perfecto last night, this morning it's not working. Changed batteries... still nothing

If your Braun Thermoscan 6022 thermometer is not switching on even after you have replaced the batteries, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. Battery installation: Make sure that you have inserted the batteries correctly, with the correct polarity. Check the battery contacts for any corrosion or debris and clean them if necessary.
  2. Battery type: The Braun Thermoscan 6022 requires two AA alkaline batteries. If you have used a different type of battery, such as rechargeable batteries, this could be the reason why the thermometer is not turning on.
  3. Battery life: Even if the batteries are new, they could be defective or may have run out of charge quickly. Try replacing the batteries with a fresh set of AA alkaline batteries.
  4. Reset: Try resetting the thermometer by removing the batteries for at least one minute and then reinserting them. This can sometimes help to reset the internal electronics of the thermometer.
  5. Faulty thermometer: If none of the above steps work, it is possible that the thermometer itself is faulty. In this case, you may need to contact Braun customer support for further assistance or consider purchasing a new thermometer.

How do I replace the battery in my Braun ThermoScan model HM3

1. Insert a flat head screw driver (FHSD) on the opening shown on picture. 2. While pushing down, move the FHSD towards LOT (right at this angle) as you pull towards you. The goal is to have an opening at the arch. 3. Insert another FHSD (or hard plastic if you don't want to mar) at the arch if it doesn't open. The battery orientation signs are shown on the back of the battery cover. I hope this helps. Keep fixing!

I have a Braun Thermoscan model hm3 that I bought in 93. My thermometer changed from fahrenheit to celsius and I don't know how to switch it back.

I found this online and I used it to help me with the same issue. It also works for f to c. You will need something small to help you though.

How do you change the battery? Mod. HM3

Replacing the batteries The thermometer is supplied with two 1.5 V type AA (LR 06). For best performance, we recommend Duracell ® alkaline batteries. Insert new batteries when the battery symbol appears on the display. Open the battery compartment. Remove the batteries and replace with new batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction. Slide battery door back until it snaps in place. To protect the environment, dispose of empty batteries at appropriate collection sites according to national or local regulations.
