My 25cc craftsman weedwacker will not start it is not getting fuel prim bulb will not fill up lines are full of fuel when i pull them off new lines took csrb off and blue out with air. if i put fuel min carb direct runs for a second.

Under the purge bulb cover is a red umbrella valve, this is a one way vale so it is important for this to be seated and working correctly or the fuel will just move back and forth rather than moving through the carb, also if the fuel filter in the tank is blocked the bulb will not fill, make sure both pipes are not kinked or twisted.

I had the same problem. If you replace the lines and you get them swapped, it just won't run. Nothing will be damaged. So then just swap them around. There are only two choices. Trial and error worked for me!

You might want to Google the model number for a service manual or contact a sears service parts center for help.

that line should be longer, it contains the filter which is the pick up, and should rest inside the tank fully,, see if its possible to pull that line farther into the tank, its not going to start until the primer bulb fills

Should be able to google model #. Make sure you have a 40:1 fuel oil mix. Pump primer bulb 4-5 times, put on full choke, when attempts to start set choke to half. After it starts open choke. If won't start and has been sitting for months with fuel in it, the carb is more than likley gummed up.If you paide less than $100.00 for it it is not worth having it repaired at a shop. You can although purchase a new carb at eparts, or sears parts direct for around $ 30.00. Just need the model#. Good luck.

I had a similar problem and it was simple to fix. I hope yours is the same. The line going into the gas tank is not far enough down in the tank.Once you prime it with the primer bulb , it will run till that gas is gone. No fuel from the tank is getting to the carburetor. If you've replaced the fuel lines recently, this may be your problem. If not, try cleaning the fuel tank and the carburetor. Hope this helps.

My decisions are being driven by my experience with Poulan chainsaws. Small hose in tank (long enough to reach all corners), filter on bottom, connects to lowest connection on carburetor. Small hose on upper carburetor connection to small fitting on primer. Large hose from large connection on primer through largest tank hole, roughly mid tank long. nothing on bottom. I suggest you leave the 2 connections on the carburetor long enough they can be swapped (just in case) then try it. if no go swap them.

Reverse the line connections at the primer bulb. Look carefully, the long port has the line going to the tank, the short port on the bulb will connect with the fuel line to the carb.

If the weedwacker runs OK on 1/2 choke or even better on full choke then most likely the cause is the carb gaskets are stiff and can no longer pump the fuel. Of course make sure the fuel lines are are the right ports (return and supply). While you have the carb apart clean all of the passages with carb cleaner.
