I have an AEG competence 5020 B fan oven (single) which has a very noisey fan, does this need a new motor and can I fix this myself?

  • jmghunciecro May 19, 2011

We discovered that this oven has two fans, one located at the back and another on the top, outside the oven it's self and under the the top cover. It is a smaller fan housed in a plastic casing and it was this that was causing the problem. The centre hole in the blade had become inlarged causing the fan to wobble and was hitting the plastic casing thus causing the noise. We found it imposible to replace the blade but a "very nice man" managed to make the hole smaller again for us and it is now running perfectly.

ISOLATE THE MAINS POWER BEFORE OPENING THE REAR OF THE OVEN.
Remove the oven, open the back, remove the fan, and clean with WD40, afer the fan is dry, fit the fan back into the housing, replace back and put into cabinet, switch on low, if the fan makes a whirring noise, or unusual squeeking replace the fan, if however the fan sounds normal and good pressure when door is open, it should be okay. If you require a part go to whitegoods.co.uk
Hope this is helpful

My AEG is coming up with 'F130' after I turn the oven on and cuts out. All functions bring up the same code.

I saw an Electrolux built-in oven showing error code F130 and having a faulty coil in its cooling fan motor. Fixing the motor made the oven operative again, so i guess these are correlated.

AEG Competence Oven not working

If you are certain that the element is o/k, and it is not heating, then thwere are 2 possibilitues.

1- the oven thermostat could be faulty, whereby it is giving a feed to the element.
2-some ovens have a fan only setting, as well as heat and fan, make sure that it is not on a fan only setting.
Hope this helps.

Oven is AEG Competence, single oven, fan assisted, 4 yrs old. Oven doesn't heat. Light ok, automatic cooking settings not switched on, grill working

If the fan is working o/k, then you need to replace the oven element.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.
This should solve the prob.
Please leave feed back.
Thankyou.

Aeg competence b2190-1m oven not heating

If the fan is working o/k, then you need replace the oven element.
To access this, remove inner rear cover of oven, there you will see the circular element.
Unscrew the screws securing it ,and remove element.
Detach wires and transfer to new element, be careful not to lose the wires behind the oven rear, refit element and rear cover.

please rate my solution.
Thanks

Aeg competence oven fan not working

If fan has stopped altogether, then you definately need a new one, to be sure you need to disconnect and remove the fan and bench test it.
Hook up a 240v supply to the fan and see if it runs, if not then it is no good..
It does not matter which terminals you connect live and neutral too as it is common to both terminals. do not connect feed to earth by mistake.
Plz leave feedback.
