Hi there, We have a LG Flatron W2253TQ monitor and the display is half normal, half very bright. There's a perfect line down the middle - the left half displays normal colours while the right half is brighter than usual. I have tried graphics displays and all sorts of controls in Windows and have now run out of ideas. It wasn't always like this so either a setting was accidentally altered or the monitor is 'broken'. Would appreciate assistance in solving this! Thanks!

It could be some sort of "Demo" mode on the display, try going into the menu of the display and looking for settings relating to Flatron F-Engine, it has a demo mode that could be the problem. That is the most likely cause since its exactly half the screen.

Lg flatron w2253tq has no power

The problem is in the power supply board, caused by one or two bad capacitors that have become open, sometimes they bulge at the top when leaking.

I have a flatron w2253tq and have "analoge power saving "on. I cannot see the desktop

Is the monitor connected to the computer using a VGA plug (a smaller one, with 15 pins in 3 rows), or a DVI plug (wider one, with flat pins in 2 rows)?

From what you write, your monitor is switched to the analog input (VGA). It doesn't sense any signal on that input and hence goes to power down mode.

You need to go to your monitor's on-screen menu and select the digital input - you should see the picture then.

LG Computer Half Light, Half dark?!?!!?

Install the forteManager software that comes with your LG LCD monitor. Go to the Options tab and choose Restore which will set it back to factory settings. For some reason some monitors come this way out of the box and this was the only way I was able to solve the problem with mine.
