without the model number I cant be 100% sure , but due to your description of the last thing u did , Id say the light is flashing indicating that the water catch bucket is not installed correctly back as it was before , most units have a safety that wont allow a unit to operate unless the water catch bucket is installed and M/T as this would allow it to dump water to the floor if it were not
the units self testing and it takes a moment to ck that everything is ok , red light ind. it;s found a problem , ck simple things first , empty bucket, ck float sensor inside bucket ck for Level (gravity) ck filter for cleaning and reset filter alarm if present , then move on to more difficult things like is something wrong with cooling fan or did water get inside and dammage something
Hi, There are many reasons why a dehumidifier willnot work or collect water. Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrongwith their dehumidifier
The problem lies in the way the bucket is reinstalled or the float valve (if yours is so equipped) is stuck in the UP position.
Remove the bucket for it's holder and check for the float valve. If it is stuck in the up position, jiggle the arm to make it return to the down position. Be fore you reinstall the bucket, look at the back wall of the bucket holder. There you will see a trigger switch. It's the bucket safety removal switch. Check it to make sure it's still intact. At 10 years old it may have broken OFF. If it appears to be be intact, install the bucket "squarely" into the bucket holder from top to bottom. Being sure that it makes firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch. When installed correctly, the bottom of the bucket will not tilt down at all.
Also, check the air intake filter as it may be dirty of clogged.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
This problem is usually caused by an improperly installed water collection bucket or the float valve inside the top of the bucket is broken or stuck in the DOWN position.
To troubleshoot this, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove he bucket, check the float valve's position. If it stuck in the UP position, jiggle the handle to make it return to the DOWN position. This will also allow you to determine if the float is broken. If all this checks out, reinstall the bucket "squarely" from top to bottom into the bucket holder. It must make contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the back wall of the holder. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket will not tilt down at all. Plug the unit in and turn it ON. If everything was done correctly, the unit should start within a few seconds.
Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thnanks for choosing FixYa.
First, the unit may need to be cleaned and after that, unit may need to be reset. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 12-15 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the controls as you normally do. Hopefully, that 12 - 15 minute timeout, allowed the electronics to reset themselves. If this continues to occur frequently, contact an authorized Frigidaire Service Center
Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem.
Hi,

Some units use the condensate water to cool down the condenser coil. This is why no water is present. If water is leaking from the unit or you are still sceptical about this problem, I would call for service. Mat
I have a 45 pint. I have to slide the bucket in and out of the unit multiple times. Make sure to wait a few seconds after each time to see if it will recognize no water (sometimes the red light comes on, but then changes it mind). Also, I've found that leaving the bucket a little crooked will make it respond. It sucks, I know. Mine is only a year old too. Should not be a problem like this!
