Broadband Router is asking for username and password

I believe that the username and pass word are admin for both if not get back to me and I will do more research

The default username and password are both admin short for (administrator) now if you configured the router previously and added a password and forgot it you could always reset it from the reset button located in the back of the router hold it in for 30 seconds and wait 1 minute for the router to boot up only if the password admin does not work (I hope this helps have a good day)

Yes you can. I do believe for the Linksys router the username is left blank and the password is 'admin'. Please give this a try.

on this router, leave the username blank and enter admin in the password box.

Connect your modem to internet port of the router and your computer to any numbered slot.Now open 192.168.1.1 in your internet explorer,it will ask for username and password.Leave the username blank and in password type admin.You will get the linksys page.On the setup page you can see internet connection type.select PPPoE from the drop down menu.In username and password enter the username and password which you use in dialing broadband.Scroll down and click on save settings.Turn off the router and modem.Power up your modem first and then router.Now you wont need to dial broadband.You will be connected automatically.

Okay, if you have not setup a password for it the default on most linksys routers is this:

Username - admin

Password - admin


if that doesn't work then try just the password and no username. This will get you to the router admin page.


But let me ask you this, does your computer access the internet right now on that computer?

If u need router password try this http://192.168.1.1 U/n= The default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router.

tell me when you open the page they ask some of user name and password if yes then give this combination username is admin and password:password or the username blank and password : admin.

second think is that if your isp provider give you a pppoe connection then you have to give the username and password which isp provider give you. try it

Connect modem to the internet port of the wrt54g
Connect pc to port 2 of the wrt54g
Reset the wrt54g, push reset button for 30seconds with the power on, uplug the power for 10 seconds
Open internet explorer, type 192.168.1.1, you will be asked to login, no username, password is admin. This will take you to the router page. On the page you will se AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION DHCP, change that to PPPOe, enter your broadband username and password. Click save settings at the buttom of the page. YOU WILL ONLY GET CONNECTION IF YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD IS CORRECT.
