Hello there and welcome to fixya
Normally the single fuse that you have found is for the electronics like the clock and the various other basic funtions o the stove ect ect if this fuse has blown out it will limit the stove or the cook top to be able to do such things like setting the timer or turning on the ovens light and it may also effect the troubleshooting program that is built into the stove ok like error codes and simple things like this
Hope this is very helpful for you '
Best regards Mike

We had lighting come in and now our GE electric oven doesn't work. The range top still works but the oven display does not. Any idea's?

Look for a reset or fuse on the unit. If lightening hit, the surge could have wiped it out, as you already know. But hopefully GE put a fuse or breaker in the unit. You just have to find it, if it exists.
According to GE, a diagram is located in behind the control panel. If you can safely remove it (CIRCUIT BREAKER OFF) you may find the protection devices that GE has in place. You may also
find the fuse or breaker hiding in there too! Good luck.
NEVER ACCESS AN APPLIANCE WITHOUT FIRST TURNING OFF THE CIRCUIT BREAKER
OR UNPLUGGING THE UNIT. BE SAFE.

The oven won't come on. It is a whirlpool electric single oven range

If the oven is getting power it's probably one or more of the thermal fuses. There is a thermal fuse in the wiring harness that feeds the control board. Accessible from the front. The other fuses are chassis mounted on the back or top.

How do i reset the oven after a power failure?

If your oven won't heat at all, the most likely problem is a blown fuse or a burnt out element. Assuming you're not attempting to repair an antique, your oven will have a clock. If it has also stopped working, it's safe to assume the oven is not getting electricity. Check your circuit breaker box and reset the breaker if necessary and see if this fixes the problem. If not, cut power to the oven at the breaker box before going any further. Note that your oven runs on 220 volts. There should be a double switch on the circuit breaker board controlling power to it. If not, there will be two single switches that need to be tripped to cut power to the oven.
Even if you didn't find a blown circuit breaker, the problem could still be a blown fuse. Some older ovens have their own set of fuses located under the range top, in the back of the oven space, or behind the oven. Inspect the fuses and replace any that have blown with one of the same amperage. Your oven might also have a circuit breaker with a reset button on the control console or on top of the oven that needs to be reset.
If you are still confounded, pull the oven away from the wall. If it is a range/oven combo, make sure it is plugged securely into the wall. If it is a stand-alone oven, inspect the wiring in the junction box to make sure everything is tightly connected and the wiring doesn't show any signs of damage.

Electrical output requirement for a buit-in oven and cooktop

Providing the existing switch outlet iscontrolled by a 30amp circuit fuse or trip, then there is no problem connecting the 2 appliances to the same switch.
If on the other hand, it is controlled by a 13 amp breaker, then you cannot connect both appliances to this, you would have to use 2 seperate sockets.
Hope this clarifys your question.

Where are my fuses located?

From http://home.howstuffworks.com/how-to-repair-an-oven3.htm Servicing Fuses If the range or oven is receiving power but doesn't work, the unit may have its own fuse or circuit breaker assembly. This assembly is usually located under the cooktop of the range. In some units, lift the top of the range to gain access to the fuse assembly; or lift the elements, remove the drip pans, and look on the sides of the cabinets. Inside the oven, look to the back to spot the fuse assembly. Electric Oven Troubleshooting Guide There are a myriad of problems that can cause your electric range or oven to malfunction. Click here for instructions on how to deal with specific issues. If the unit has this additional fuse or breaker system, components such as the oven light, the range heating elements, the timer, and a self-cleaning feature may be separately fused. If these components or features fail to work, don't overlook the possibility that the fuses have blown. To replace a blown fuse, unscrew the old fuse and install a new one of the same type and electrical rating. If the unit has circuit breakers, push the breaker or reset button, which is usually located on the control panel.

OVEN CFEF372BC3 electric control panel not working

Look on the control board for fuses. Some fuses don't look like a standard replaceable fuse in a fuse holder. Some are soldered to the control board itself.
