Not good, you will need a replacement floppy drive for the camera. It is a common failure point on the Mavica series. Sorry, no easy fix

dbrian07, most of these problems are caused by a defect in the optical block or light engine, your description of the problem points out to this particular area. there are some websites that can give you prices for either rebuilt or replacement light engines, you will need to type in your complete model number, and SONY USA.COM has a website i think they also can help you with parts for this model. please leave your feedback if i answered your question. thanks!

This is a convergence problem that can be as simple as poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you feel that you want to attempt the repair yourself, please update this with that indication and additional details and instructions will follow. The parts for this repair will run about $40-$60.

SOURCE: my sony kf-50we610 has no pic replaced lamp, still

If this is the model I am thinking of, don't bother fixing it. Call up sony and they will should offer you an new sony bravia lcd tv. You can either get the free one or upgrade from the free one to a bigger one. I guess that there is some recall with the light engine and sony is giving out this offer. This happened to my grandma to her 42" grand wega. The ending result was that she got a 46" 120hz sony bravia tv for, if I remember right, $250. I hope that this helps. Good luck and happy new years!!!

Playstation 3 works fine useing the av hook up but won;t work with hdmi cable hook up.

First, make sure your TV is on the appropriate input for the plugged in HDMI cable. Once this is completed, turn your ps3 on. If the screen comes on and is black, turn the ps3 to standby (red light is on) and hold the front power button until the console beeps a second time. This will usually force the ps3 to recognize the hdmi input and will bring up the menu to configure the AV settings.

I have a PS3 that has been hooked up to the same HDMI cord for the bast six months. I used it the other night and turned it off for the night, now it is not working. I have attempted to reset the video...

there is a way to perform a hard reset of the console. i had to do this once.
BACK UP BEFORE YOU DO THIS OR YOU'LL LOSE GAME SAVES MUSIC ECT. GO TO THE BACK UP UTILITY IN THE MENU AND BACK UP WITH A SD CARD(PS3 FAT 60gb) USB STICK OR EXTERNAL HDD
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/2 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
This should take care of the glitch in the A/V

RCA's work fine but HDMI gives me no picture

Have you already tried:

Connect both sets of cables (HDMI and RCA's)

Go to SETTINGS, VIDEO SETTINGS, VIDEO OUTPUT SETTINGS

Choose HDMI if that' what you want to use.

Just follow the prompts.

If the tv supports hdmi you should have no problems.

Just make sure you use the RCA ports for video since HDMI doesn't include audio, just video.

Let me know if this works.
