The front right burner of my professional series glass top range won't shut off. I have tried resetting it by turning the breaker off and then back on, but that did not work, when I did turn the breaker back on, the letters PF show up. I currently have it off at the breaker. What is wrong or what does the letters PF stand for?

PF stands for power failure. That happened when you cut breaker off. Replace switch that controls burner that doesn't work.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Range control panel DEAD

We tested the EOC and it will indeed need a replacement. Also, just a couple weeks prior we ran the "clean" mode on the oven as did another poster who experienced the "pop" and loss of the control board/oven function, but still had stove top function.

SOURCE: how do you replace a burner switch on a Frigedaire Glasstop Stove

Hello,

The repair on this stove will be relatively easy then. All you are going to have to do is pull out the stove from the wall and remove the upper part of the back panel where the burner switches are.

Remove the knob and take out the screws that hold the switch to that front panel. Then from there just match up the wires to the new switch off the old one.

This repair will turn out to be pretty cut and dry for you. If you have anymore questions please ask.

Thanks Again,
Bill

SOURCE: frigidaire ceramic cooktop burner turned on by itself

It is the burner control (behind the knob). The triac in the control has failed. $50 item, 10 minute change. Just make note which wire goes to which terminal.

I doubt that it is the control board, as the board has little to do with the stove top, but rather controls the display and the oven temperature/feedback monitoring.

Hope this helps.

Electrolux glass cook top model PLEC30SS980CB says ER on one burner.

When an Electrolux glass cooktop displays the "ER" error code on one burner, it typically indicates an issue with that specific burner. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and fix the problem:
1. Turn off the power: Start by turning off the power to the cooktop at the circuit breaker. This ensures your safety while working on the appliance.
2. Check for debris or obstructions: Inspect the affected burner for any debris, food residue, or obstructions. Clean the burner thoroughly with a soft cloth or sponge, ensuring there is no buildup that could be causing the error.
3. Reset the cooktop: After cleaning, reset the cooktop by turning the power back on at the circuit breaker. This may clear the error code and allow the burner to function properly again.
4. Check the wiring: If the error persists, there might be a wiring issue. In this case, it is recommended to contact a professional technician or the Electrolux customer service for assistance. Working with electrical components can be dangerous, so it's best to have a qualified professional handle the repair.
Electrolux customer service can provide further guidance and troubleshooting steps specific to your model if needed.

Frigidaire model FEC30S6ABF front burner wont turn off

Hi - From what you have described the range could possibly be experiencing a faulty element/sensor or the communication to the element from the control board is now compromised. If you are referring to the left front element, the part number is 318178110/MSRP: $65.86. Right front element, part number 316224201/MSRP: $89.60. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose the range.

JBP65G GE range oven won't shut off

Electric Ranges have circuit boards that control the power to each burner or element. Circuit board could be faulty. I would not mess with electricity unless you know what you are doing. Call a certified repair specialist or the manufacturer if under warranty. Good Luck

I've used you guys once before - right the first time so trying again for a different problem. I've got a Frigidaire glass-top electric range (model PLEF398CCD) and 2 of the four burners stay on...

Hello,
Thanks for using Fixya once again we appriciate it!

The problem with your stove is going to be with the infinate switch(what ya are calling knob) for the burners that giving ya trouble are shorted and the contacts inside of it are welded so they permanantly are stuck on the HIGH setting. To repair that the switches for the affected burners would need to be replaced.

The part number for those switches is 316095503 they could be purchased at your local appliance partstore or online at;

Burner on range will not turn off

Look at the back of your range there should be schemetic for your power control board. look for defective burner wire going into relay. There should be 5 relays in rows. Realy is the problem. I had the same problem with my front left burner stuck on high.
After replacing everything works okay.
