My keyboard keeps shutting off within a minute or two of playing. The woman I purchased it from told me that it had an auto-off battery saving mechanism if you don't touch a key for a while, but this isn't the case with my keyboard. It's shutting off while playing. And, I can't see the display when I'm standing up over it. Only while I'm sitting down playing.

If you are running on batteries, they are either depleted OR may have corrosion on the contacts in the keyboard which is COMMON problem. If using an adapter, the cords chronically work loose. A last problem is the switching for using battery or adapter can have poor contacts. If you don't have an adapter, get one and get one SPECIFICALLY for the keyboard... I don't know how many I have had to tell they have the wrong adapter and that is why their unit won't work.

Why won't my digitech 21pro save my program changes. I know how to chage parameters and save those changes yet when after saving them and shutting down the unit, when I fire it back up it goes

Did you try changing the battery yet? It uses a lithium battery to keep the settings in memory and those eventually die. People forget that old electronics needed juice all the time.

What could cause my keyboard to shut off after being played for about a minute?

I would say that something is getting hot in the electronics and causing it to shut down.
Casio should be able to supply you with a list of authorised service agents in your area. So visit there website.

What could cause my keyboard to shut off while it's being played for about a minute?

If power supply is not original and time of shut off depends on speakers volume I suspect power supply has no enough power. If it is all original then problem may be in power management switching off

Sound keeps turning off after ten muients

I've had this problem with other sound equipment. For me, it was a heat issue and there was an auto shut off feature to save the unit from over heating. I would especially think this is the case if it turns back on without problem after another 10 minutes of being off.

You could try turning off phantom power if it isn't needed to run your mics. Or making sure it is in a spot that allows maximum air flow through the head.

Hope this helps! Don't forget to rate!

I want to transfer some midi files to my Casio LK-230 keyboard. When I plug in the usb cable it does recognize the casio unit but it does not show up on my computer...like there is not unit... How do...

The keyboard will NOT show up on MY COMPUTER as it does not have memory to record and save MIDI files... It will PLAY them real time as the computer sends the data to the keyboard. You can't transfer and save the files IN the keyboard. Some higher level keyboards do have memory and even hard drives... this one does not. This one will have some built in,that you can play but even those you cannot access as if they were memory.
With the USB cable connected, you should be able to see the device listed in the device manager section of the control panel under system hardware.

We hava a Casio CTK-601 Synthesizer Keyboard. It was accidently left plugged in with a 12 volt adaptor. It uses a 9 volt adaptor. We do not know if it was having the following problem before or after...

That is a good detailed description. The factory reset is a good idea.

It sounds like a corrupted firmware. 12 volt instead of 9 volt is not a big overload, depending on the design. The fact that the adapter was very hot points to a serious electronic fault perhaps occuring. If the amp rating of the 12 volt one is adequate, this is probably the case. The 12 volt adapter could also get very hot if it is under rated for the job, which gives no real information about the fault.

It is possible that the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply could have been stressed and the power supply is now inadequate. The service manual would be handy in this scenario. If the digital electronics is corrupt or damaged, the chance of an economic fix is much less.

Please try to reset the ewi. You can do this like this: Shut down ewi. Press down the four little white buttons Level, FX, Setup and Trans. Keep them pressed while starting up the ewi.
This is a factory reset.

I hope this works for you.

Casio LK 200 and smf software

If you have the smart card slot you can save your songs to the memory card by using Anvil Studio which is a free program. Save your midi song in Format 0 and be sure to use channel 4 for right hand playing and channel 3 for left hand. Be sure to keep the file size under 80k if you have other channels active for other instruments!
