Please help! New icecam2, new mac mini, newest skype software. Mike and camera do function. Skype test call fails. No audio is received back. I've tried everything I can think of including turning off firewall.

I have the exact same issue, the sporadic on/off issues started shortly after I upgraded to 10.5.8... anyone know of any solutions?

It is dependent on your system. Icecam2 works on system 10.4.11 and upwards. You can download the driver from here http://www.macally.com/en/Techsupport/Drivers.asp

If you have these systems it should be a simple case of plugging it in and using it. With Syke you would go to preferences then click on the Video tab once there choose your camera from he drop down list and clcik on enable skype video and you should be able to use it.

Next "Calling and Devices" on the right, set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card or headphones/mike.
Next go to the Test Audio section below where you just setup the microphone & speaker and (written in blue) click on "Open the call setup assistant"
and the "Yahoo Call Setup Assistant" window will open to the left and follow the the instructions. Click on FINISH and the audio will be setup.
Next go to "Webcam" and click in the circle "Allways allow the following people to view my webcam.
Next Click on "Super Webcam" snd in the circle click "Start Super Webcam mode automatically".
Then click OK and it should work.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.

Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

D. AIM (AOL) Messenger:

On the VIM sign-in window, click on Edit.
Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
Next click on Enhanced IM.
Then click on Audio Video.
The Audio and Video portion has drop downs so you can select the proper audio card and video camera installed in you computer.

Speaker
Camera
The audio and camera should function now.

Once you install your web camera you should not unplug it. Doing so can cause drivers to be corrupt and the camera will fail to function.
Re-install the CD software program as below.

Normal 0 Bring up Skype and Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up you video camera. Also, you can visit this site for additional information to setup video.
