OK, two chips need to be replaced in tv to solve this issue.
Are you handy with electronics stuff repair and can replace parts in circuit board? Soldering work is required with proper tools to do so.

Chips are available for $38 each and tv needs two but soldering skills should be good to avoid circuit board damage while replacing chips.
I would recommend to get help of any friend who knows soldering work.
IC6501 and IC8002 located on main board are defective and part number is MCZ3001DB available in PartStore.com

the television was working fine until my daughter played a ps2 game on it and apparantly the game glitched and the tv went out. I have disconnected the tv from everything, unplugged it from the wall socket and cleaned it. I do have the original remote if that will help.

unfortunately I am a nurse. I don't have a soldering gun and have never opened a tv. Is it difficult to do and are the chips easily found? I know there is an art to soldering, Is it worth my while to attempt this myself? I have repaired alot of things around the house but never anything electrical.
