Won't install on new lap-top with Windows 7 OS. Are there any driver updates for this?

NO OS stated, are we to guess OS , windows what.
XP ,vista or 7
32bit and 64bit for 6 OS delivered while produced.
or W10 with the Free W10 upgrade, must I guess more?

what did it have new. XP? 32bit (x86)
then what do you have now, see? we cant guess what upgrades means. or updated. (windows update?)
compaq can be super old or up to 2013

HP drivers are smart, they flat refuse to load on wrong pc
wrong OS or wrong camera. or PC is 64bit and you ran 32 drivers, by DESIGN.
see? my guess wrong all that. 1 or more....

in all cases when any PC fails for any reasons like this
1 thing bad, or 2.
we go to device manager,
and click view, show hidden devices
do you see anything there with yellow, red marks or errors.
we do that to see if some drivers were deleted.
or worse, a new OS installed and many are now wrong or missing.

do that first. make sure all drivers on the HP page are loaded
for sure the grapics and camera , and the first 8 on the HP sites driver page,

look for a softpaq, to autoload all that.

When downloading a printer driver from HP you will need to ensure that you are selecting the correct OS (eg. Windows 7) and the appropriate version (eg. 64 or 32 bit operating system). These drivers are different and using one on the other will not work.
Windows XP drivers also will not work properly in a Windows 7 environment and the majority of Windows XP drivers are 32-Bit.

There is no downloadable driver for this printer. You just need to update the Windows 7 list on your computer with the latest update. Here are the instructions from hp:

Are you installing the printer on a new computer? The installation disc is probably for an older OS and the new computer's OS needs a different installer.

For some OS versions, the appropriate driver is in the OS (for example Windows 7). In that case, connect the USB cable from the printer and the computer. Allow the OS to find the driver. (For Windows, you may have to open the Windows Update panel (Start > All Programs > Windows Update). Have the program search for available updates. Then install the update (check in the Optional Software as well as the Important Updates).

First 2 of your problems are due to the fact that your laptop enters hibernation (or hybrid sleep in windows 7) and windows cannot restore your last saved state. The 3rd problem indicates you have windows problems (bad/not updated drivers, filesystem corruption, application issues). I would suggest you to reinstall windows.

New OS is 64 bit versus old one at 32. Might need a different driver for different OS since 32 bit drivers will often not work on a 64 bit system.

For windows 7 the drivers are built in.
If you do not find the drivers, please do a windows update.
You may need to do the windows update more then once.

Hi, Keeping Windows 7 updated, Microsoft has built a special alert program that not only alerts you about the current operating system's update but also other aspects of an OS such as drivers. As Windows 7 even works with windows Vista drivers, but it is recommended to upgrade all device drivers to get maximum from Windows 7. Best practice to get the update driver is from the manufacturer's website itself.
