I have no output from the subwoofer channel on my aiwa av d-57. All other channels are fine. Is there a fuse for that channel or some other quick fix or is it kaput?

Note that you have to do this with the remote control, there arent any buttons that will work on the front of the unit. If you don't have the remote (like myself) and you have an Android phone with a remote IR blaster installed, I was able to use the app ZappIR. In the app you select the model and it supplies you with a ton of buttons. I randomly pressed the buttons until "sub off" displayed, the rotated the multi jog selector on the unit itself till "sub on" appeared.

No. It's Line Level and thus would not be involved in a protection circuit.

Thanks, Ryan. I, myself, knew of no way to turn on or off on the sub until you told us..."manual select on remote and use the multi-jog." And then, "BOOM!" Talk about bass. Appreciate it, Ryan

I have the same problem. I can connect the subwoofer with speaker wires to the amp output and it works! However, finding an unused output is a problem. I need help from this step onward...

Hit the 'manual select' button on the remote and make sure the subwoofer is turned 'on'.

Conncet a sony sub to a denon reciver

Depending on the model, there are two ways to connect a subwoofer to an amplifier, receiver or processor. The best way is to connect the subwoofer to the SUB OUT or LFE output of a receiver, but some subwoofers can be connected to the speaker level outputs of the receiver or amplifier.

1. How to Connect a Subwoofer to the Subwoofer Output

The preferred method of connecting a subwoofer is through the LFE or Subwoofer output (SUB OUT) of a receiver. Almost all home theater receivers (or processors) and some stereo receivers have a subwoofer output. The LFE (Low Frequency Effects) is a special output for subwoofers and is often labeled 'SUBWOOFER' not LFE. 5.1 channel programs on DVD discs have a dedicated .1 channel output with bass-only content that is best reproduced by a subwoofer. Connect the output of the LFE or Subwoofer jack to the Line In jacks of the subwoofer using a single RCA cable (the two jacks on the left in the photo). A 'Y-Cable' may be necessary to connect the LFE output to both the left and right channels of the subwoofer.

2. How to Connect a Subwoofer to Speaker Level Outputs
Some receivers and amplifiers do not have an LFE or Subwoofer output. In this case you can use the speaker outputs of the receiver to connect the subwoofer. Using speaker wire, connect the left and right channel speaker outputs of the receiver to the left and right channel speaker level inputs on the subwoofer (the speaker inputs on the right side of the photo). Using speaker wire, connect the left and right channel speaker outputs on the back of the subwoofer to the left and right channel front speakers.

Hope it helped..

One channel dead - Aiwa NSX-D5 (RX-N5K amp)

When you put your headphones in does it switch off the speakers? If it does it could be a faulty headphone jack.

Speakers connection

There shouldnt be a problem with that at all. The subwoofer needs to be self powered. The Yamaha has a "Subwoofer Output" on the back. Just connect it there.

Subwoofer wont work

Receivers often have the ability to switch off the subwoofer channel. Especial if it wasn't connected before. If it has the ability to do a speaker test or set up try that. If it bypasses the subwoofer that will confirm the channel is not on.

Panasonic av control receiver sa-he200

On any 5.1 system without 2 zone capabilities when you press speaker "B" the receiver uses the rear channel amplifiers to send signal to the remote speakers. As a result the receiver cannot output signal to both the rears and the remotes at the same time.

Connecting Bose 901 series iv to Harman Kardon AVR 254

Most HK av receivers have pre amp out, power amp in with metal jumpers connecting them for the main or front channels. that would be the best place to hook up the EQ on a AV receiver. If your receiver doesn't have pre out, power in jacks , you can use tape monitor .record out playback in. The tape monitor option is best for stereo use , as the active EQ will charge all speakers in tape mode, possibly damaging other speakers.I run my 901 s with a seperate pre-amp,power-amp hooked up to my Denon AV receiver that way i can run in surround w/standard speakers

Subwoofer output

There could be a number of reasons causing this malfunction, try replacing the subwoofer's cord, it might be damaged, you can also try reseting the system to the factory settings according to the following instructions: Reset Instructions: 1. Press the power button to turn off the power 2. Press the power button while pressing the ENTER button. (note: this will reset all memory) Good Luck
