ROOF TOP AC UNIT ON COLEMAN POP-UP LEAKS

THE AC UNIT KEEPS LEAKING INTO THE CAMPER (EVEN WITH NO RAIN) I ALREADY HAD THE SEAL REPLACED. IS THERE A DRAIN FOR THE PAN THAT COULD BE POSSIBLY PLUGGED? IF SO, HOW DIFFICULT IS THE FIX. THANK YOU.

Does water drip out of unit on the roof while running ? If you look under the unit on the roof, you should see one or two little drains sticking down., that may be plugged up. Piece of wire or something and poke in the holes on the sides of those drains to make sure they're clear. Usually there is a plastic/nylon pan on roof unit to catch that moisture, and drain it off. Could be overflow because of the plugged drains, or I have seen the odd one crack but not too much recently, mostly back 5 yrs ago or so they had a run of them.

If you can't access to unplug from under, just make sure power is off to unit and remove the screws that hold cover on roof unit and you will see holes from inside unit and can clean them out from there.

Coleman Mach 48000 series roof top A/C in my camper & recently it's been dripping heavily inside the camper. We looked at the top & inside for a clogged line & can't find anything, suggestions?

I had the same problem but it wasn't a clogged drain line, it was the gasket between the roof of the camper and the AC unit. The gasket had shrunk and pulled apart allowing rain water in. To make sure you don't have a clogged drain line when using the AC do you notice water dripping off the camper anywhere besides inside? You should have some drips somewhere on the outside.

We have a 1997 Coleman popup camper. The air is just a little cool and it keeps leaking on the inside. I called a repair place and was told it was most likely low in freon and that it could not be added...

the drain is blocked and needs a clean out ,look for a drain hole with a pipe to the outside .as for the gas recharge then yes it can be filled by a specialist and not a chancer ,you have to cut a pipe on the motor and solder a connection on the end not a problem for a experianced person

Roof repairs on 96 coleman popup camper The roof is sagging and the air conditioner is leaking water inside the camper. Also rain leaks in around the air conditioner

If your recreational vehicle air conditioner is leaking, then it is probably time to replace the rooftop gasket that seals the unit. As this gasket ages, it becomes brittle, hard, and unable to seal the opening, thus permitting moisture to enter the RV. Replace an old gasket with a new one and eliminate a frustrating air conditioner leak. You will also have to caulk around the gasket or any other opening on the RV roof. Rubex Caulk is very effective in sealing around RV's vents, AC's and corners.

I have a jayco pop up camper with a Duo-Therm BriskAir roof top a/c. im having problem with it leaking water inside of the camper? Is there a drain hose? Or wat do u think is wrong? Thanks

Yes there are drain holes in base of upper unit (on roof), which may be plugged. Couple of questions though to see if we can better troubleshoot this for you.
-Do you remember seeing water (condensation) running off roof before when AC was used?
-Have you cleaned filter inside at ceiling lately?

I have a travel trailer with a coleman 7300 roof top ac unit. the unit will blow cold air but water leaks thru the plenum. i was told by the previous owner that it needs a new seal. i would like to fix it...

If it's leaking inside where filter cover is, then real good chance the drains being plugged is the only problem. If water (condensation) not running off roof when operating in cool mode, then I'd bet drains, which are located under unit on roof, and you should see them sticking down like buttons. They have a hole in side that needs cleaning with a pipe cleaner or similar to open them up. If need be, shut off power to unit and remove top cover on roof unit and look for the drain holes in base, and clean them out. If water comes in while raining, but AC not running, then it's gasket. That is remedied by removing ceiling assembly (just screws) and 4 bolts that pull/hold the upper and lower assemblies together, unplug wiring to upper unit, and simply lift it off, change gasket and re-install. Tighten those 4 bolts equally when gasket is aligned properly over hole, only until gasket is approx 1/2, original thickness. Plug harness back in and your done. (about an hours work.) Only other thing that may be wrong is styrofoam drip tray for cooling unit, under cover on roof may have a crack , allowing condensation to leak in. If that 's the case, you can try to find a sealant compatible with styrofoam to seal those cracks.

You can purchase one from any RV dealer usually, and they may even have some used ones cheap in their spare parts dept. Make sure if it's used, that it's not to brittle from the sun, otherwise you'll be replacing again.

Rv ac unit leaks, even when fan only

Where the pipes enter the building, look carefully there for a bad seal. Use a good quality sealant and block the leak properly. If there is no rain, and the unit is leaking still with the fan on only, then you have an issue with the drain pipe angle or a kinked pipe or a blockage. Suggest you have it seen to by a aircon. technician as that repair is really not easy.(AC will possibly have to come out to rectify problem).

Contensation leaking into camper

Check on roof, look under at base of AC unit for 2 knob like things sticking down, they are drains. use a piece of wire or small stick & try to poke inside there. You might have to look hard to find hole. Pay attention to run off on roof, if not as much as usual, that's a good indication they are plugging up. If too hard to get to, remove 4 screws & pop cover off, but watch for wasps or yellow jackets before you do.

I am looking at a 94 Coleman pop up camper. The

They are a closed system, so obviously it had/has a leak. You can get some AC guys that will retrofit it to allow for adding freon, but if it has a leak anyway, which will probably cost you a couple of hundred bucks to find out you have a leak that may not be evident until after you've already bought it, then leaks out again, and your back at square one. Depending on what size BTU's you want, you can pay anywhere from $500-$1000 + plus inside controls etc, if needed.
