I appear to have lost all my maps on my (my60t) after downloading available maps from nav desk Only puurchased four days ago.Please help

Has yours been updated recently? I updated mine, (about a year ago), on the website and it wiped all the map data.
I think some of the more recent software update versions have caused problems for certain sat nav models.
Try logging onto the Garmin website, connect you sat nav to you computer and check it has the current software updates. Older models sometimes need to be reset to an previous version of the software to work correctly. To do this you might have to contact Garmin directly by Email to get them to send you the correct software version.

install the nav desk software to you p.c and connect the navman to the pc via the usb cable.

You will be prompted that a map upgrade is available through the NavDesk software. Once the unit has synchronized with the NavDesk software you will be informed that a later map is available. Once you select the map data, it will begin to download to your computer.

I have a nav cam 7000.
is there a download or site I could go to, to enter,to change the postcode to 7 letters, instead of 5 @numbers.as at present, to navigate to an area.ernie

not sure there are map updates now for this unit it is superceded I di find this comment on the site
I'm helping my dad try to update his navcam7700 about a year after he bought it. There is no support on the website, not a heck of a lot when I look up maps, etc in google.
I just bought myself a refurbed navigon 2100 and it blows his piece of **** out of the water. It's easy to use and a no frills GPS unit. I already have 8 Mp3 players, i didn't need one in my gps unit...
If someone offers you a navcam 7700 to use as a paperweight, throw it at them!!!!!!

Yea, I can solve the problem by ordering the up dated CD for maps of the US, this allows me to only use the GPS by regions, not the entire US. It costs $59.00. I am at this time unemployed so I guess I wait for better days.

Sorry, here is the bad new,
Sony Canada told me that my NAV-U70 does NOT have sufficient memory to drive the next Navteq update (which will be offered by Sony) and guess what, that update is not even available yet, may be in a couple months or weeks, Sony don't even know when!!!
After spending over 500 CDN$ (tax incl) for my NAV-U70 2 years ago at Best Buy store, Sony Canada do not care at all either Best Buy, they offered me 100$ which I can use on other Sony products, well... will I buy something else from Sony... not sure! :-(

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.

1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
3. Press the NAV hard key.
4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
   Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
   
6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.

Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.

1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
   Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
