I work at a small company and recently they have set me up a voice mailbox on a norstar m7310 Phone and Star Talk mini. The mailbox works fine but the store manager is unable to configure my phone to display when I have a messages. I have looked over this site and found some useful information about how to setup a mailbox but nothing about how to fix this problem. I have checked settings but its complicated. Can anyone tell me what I must do to fix this? I believe it has to do something with setting the line with my extension. Any info would be helpful.

In the mailbox setup, there's a prompt called EXT .. make sure your extension number is there. There's another prompt called MSG WAIT (or something like that) which needs to be set to YES or Y. The person that setup the mailbox should be able to get to these settings.

Your mailbox is assigned a maximum number of incorrect password attempts.
Norstar Voice Mail records the number of incorrect attempts from the last time your mailbox was successfully accessed. Once the number has been passed you are"locked-out" Your mailbox cannot be opened again until the System Coordinator resets the password

I have put a main greeting on my Norstar M7310 phone for all 5 incoming lines, however one of our incoming lines has grabbed a personal message form another extension and callers get that personal message...

You need to know what extension is causing the forward directly to voice mail. Chances are that this extension has ringing lines programmed to it and the forward on busy is to voice mail. ANY PHONE THAT HAS RINGING LINES SHOULD NOT BE SET TO FORWARD ON BUSY. If they happen to be on the phone when a call comes in it will go straight to their personal mailbox.

Try this:
Press "Feature (star) (star) T I M E"
and follow the display prompts.

StarTalk Flash is 1.7.00 + caller ID

The Star Talk Flash is a voice mail prduct. The caller ID feature is a phone system feature. If your system is a norstar CICS or a MICS the caller ID will work only if you have the caller ID capable central office circuit packs installed. Look on the card and see if the label has "CLID". If it dose there is also additional programming required for each set under.... terminals &sets/telco features/featue assignments/show line/caller ID...set:Y. You also have to program (under sets) /telco features/caller ID: Y.

Could be two things, there could be a general delivery mailbox attached to the system which is mail box 100, or the new service provider has a off premisis voicemail attached to the lines. if there is VM on the lines you should get a stuttered dial tone on the line indicating that you have a voice mail.

Under greeting table 1 set your greeting attendant assignment as 100,that should send the caller to mbox 100 if they press 0 or make no selection at all

Mailbox locked how to unlock it

First you will have to find out the extension number that is giving you issues.

How to Change a Mailbox Password
1. To access the voice mail system press "Feature".
2. Press "983".
3. When you see "Log:" enter "120000" for 2 digit extension numbers, enter "1020000" for 3 digit extension numbers.
4. Press "OK".
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).

Default password is "0000".

Meridian M7310 phone system

We had a tech come in who has worked on the system a long time ago and he said because of the power surge it fried the Star Mini. He said they are hard to get and may have to search on Ebay. We only had a battery backup instead of a UPS.
So for now we are without voicemail.
