Asus k53E sx 194 ov start up wont repair cant do nothink useing my sons dell

Julie, start your laptop and before it gives the start up windows logo, press F8 a few times. If you pressed it at the right time than you shall see a bunch of options:

First, try to boot your computer using "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION" and see if it works. If it works than its all fine and smooth sailing. Login to your windows and then as a precautionary measure, Re-install your Windows from the Asus Recovery Manager.

Second, if the first option fails, then select, "SAFE MODE" option and it shall login windows Safe Mode. From there go to Asus Recovery Manager and re-install your windows to be certain that it shall work fine now.

My gm5664 will not boot. I tried using my boot disk and it loads windows files then takes me to a self diagnostic program but it is a dead end , I am told the files load from the disk but I don't

Almost FOUR months later; what is the prognosis now, Robert?
Did you replace the Harddrive?

Also;
HOW is it a computer repair shop recommends replacing a motherboard, ($$$$), and when this doesn't cure the problem, there is NO recourse?

Problem SHOULD have been fixed.
THAT is what they (Computer 'techs') were there to do.

Not replace an EXPENSIVE part, and then go, "Oh well", if the computer doesn't work.

I <- would contact the State Attorney Generals Office of Kansas, and the Consumer Division. Tell them the problem, ask for the Complaint Form. They will S-M-O-K-E that repair shop with fines, if the problem is not fixed.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Hi, I have bought Buffalo 320GB couple of month, its works fine all the time.unfortunately when i use my buffalo with other buffalo that same model and in the same laptop, my buffalo get crash. it...

You have multiple issues there.
1.turn everything OFF.
2. disconnect ALL external hard drives from the computer.
3. Restart your laptop
4. if it does not restart in normal mode, restart again while holding down the F8 key and select Safe Mode.
5. If you can start your laptop in normal mode, or safe mode, you can proceed further. If not, you'll need to take your laptop to a computer repair store and ask them to fix it.

If you can boot up your laptop normally with nothing connected to it, then the laptop is fine. If you can only boot it into safe mode, there is a bad driver and you should take it to a repair shop and let them know you can only boot into safe mode. Heck, bring both of your buffalo drives with you and tell them plugging them both in at once caused the problem with the laptop, and they'll get it all fixed for you.

If the laptop boots normally, though, then try plugging only one of the drives in. If that works fine, then try plugging ONLY the other drive in. If that works fine, then you most likely have a drive signature collision.

Google "how to fix drive signature collision", and follow the instructions if you understand them. If you don't, take both drives to a computer repair shop and tell them you have a drive signature collision that you need to have fixed, and they'll take care of it for you.

Laptop will not boot up. Gives 2 options...start windows normally or go to repair and recovery mode. neither works. It is only 6 months old and worked fine for a few months then stopped.

Looks like you have had whats called a crash.?

If first experience, no prod, turn on, await screen , if it shows, click "Start Windows"

Hopfully end of matter.

Advise you backup your important data/files to external HDD, incase there is a more serious problem wait to rear its unwelcome head?

Fingers crossed. Good Luck!

"no signal"

If you turn on your computer press the F8 key continiously until you get to a screen that gives you the option to boot in safe mode, select save mode, select your operating system, you will be able to login to your profile, right click on the desktop and click on the settings tab( TOP RIGHT HAND Corner) change your resolution to 800x600, Restart your PC. Now you should be able to login to windows and your profile like always. Cheers
