Car charger i need a new car charger for my durabrand portable dvd player serial # TA240ED122693. i have checked best buy, batteries plus, walmart, radio shack, bentleys electric and circuit city. i was finally told to contact the manufactor please help!! i was a great babysitter in the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Three places in mind Ebay or Best buy and Radio shack and ask them what you need.

Usually where the power cord goes it tells you what kind it is (i.e. 12vDC). From my experience, Radio Shack offers different kinds of cords as well as plugs for the unit that match up with the plug on your player. I'd go there and check it out but bring the unit with you and they will match things up.

Durabrand portable DVD players are no longer supported by Wal Mart because the manufacturer of the DVD players went out of business last year. Ripoffreport.com has several complaints about the product line. WalMart has been replacing the units for exchange.

Yes you can check in IT stores (Radio Shack, Best Buy etc) Sometimes it comes as universal adaptor. All you need is the match socket type Voltage and Amperage. There are available for car also. You can check the brand names Targus, Belkin and other trusted brands.

Well, you could bring it in to radio shack and have them check what type of tip you need, and then just buy a universal charger with that tip included.

go to www.1800customersupport.com. There click on durabrand. In the top right corner of the page, on "enter keyword or phrase", type in the model number of your player with no spaces. Then click on the bottom of the player picture where it says more. This will pull up the accessories available.

I would suggest Radio Shack or similar local electronics store that specializes in electronics for hobbyists(meaning Best Buy and Circuit City would not be my first choice). The trick will be to match the output voltage and amperage, which should be listed on the label attached to the unit (sometimes on the bottom) or listed on the old home AC adapter if you still have it. The other thing to keep in mind is the size of the plug connector which the adapter uses to connect to the unit. Take the unit to Radio Shack and they should be able to figure out which AC adapter is right for your unit.
