See if the lever on the door switch clicks. You cannot hear a click or the lever is missing that could be the problem. On the backsides of the dryer is a dust cover. Remove it and look for reasons why the duct fuse might melt and kill power to the door switch.

See the lever there? That must be in for the door circuit to activate the motor.

SOURCE: Dryer drum will not turn

Try pushing start button while turing drum clock wise and see if drum will start spinning, sounds like bad start winding or relay

KEYS750LQ0 dryer doesn't start it just hums when I push start

Check the belt. You may have to open the machine up to look. if the belt is ok turn the drum by hand and see if the motor pulley is also turning. While you are in there look for foreign objects that have wedged against the drum preventing it from turning.

usually the humming sound is coming from the motor,try this,open the door,turn the drum with one hand and hold the door switch in with your other hand and have someone else push the start button at the same time,this might help the motor turn on but if it does you need a new motor,if you can't turn the drum you could have something stuck in the blower wheel or something jammed in the motor like a broken belt but like i said a humming sound is usually the motor.

Is it a pleasant sounding hum, like the sound of a motor running? If so , probably your belt broke.If that hum goes on and on for several minutes, it's definitely belt. Bad motor or start relay, would cut out quickly. Either way ,youv'e got to pull out machine and pull off back to inspect.

Dryer hums when the start button is pushed but it does not start. Hum stops when the start button is released. Drum turns by hand. Gas dryer

It's probably the belt that turns the drum. Remove the front panel to see if the belt is broken

Hi, it sounds like you have a bad motor. You can try and open the door, hold the door button while having someone push the start button. Try turning the drum with your hand while these buttons are pushed and see if the dryer starts. It sounds like the start winding has gone bad.
If the drum will not turn, remove the front panel of the dryer and see if something has gotten into the blower wheel to stop it.

Sounds like the motor is cutting out on its thermal fuse. The only cure is to change the motor.

It sounds like it is the motor or a stuck/obstructed blower wheel. You can start by opening the door, push the door switch in, hit the start button & see if you can turn the drum clockwise by hand. This might get it going. if the drum does not move by hand then the problem is probably within the blower. post your findings for a follow up
