This may be caused by a burnt heater relay in the control panel. The water just doesn't get hot enough by itself, cycles take longer and dishes don't get as clean. This happened to me and I just replaced the control panel. If I were better with a soldering iron, I would have just replaced the relay, a lot cheaper too.

Most bosch dishwashers have a filter that can be removed and cleaned at the bottom of the tub check filter to see if it is dirty. if the filter is clean make sure your water is hot enough min 120 degrees at faucet may want to run hot water at sink before starting dishwasher

Bosch dishwasher model SHX46A why does the on/off switch and lights stay on while the dw stopped running?

The dw was not quite running. It does pause between cycles. The power scrub cycle means that you had the machine on the longest of all cycle choices. There's almost always a light and a normal cycle. The pots and pans cycle is a power scrub option. Yes all the lights would be on until they switched to a different part of the cycle. Do you have a DRYING light? That would be the one to look for as far as the dw being finished. :)

Our dishwasher takes about 3-4 hours to run a cycle. My brother has the same model and it takes about an hour. Is there an adjustment that we can make to correct this? Thanks, Karla

make sure that your filter in the bottom is clean and if you are using the automatic wash cycle, it will wash until the water is clean. Sometimes it will take an hour, sometimes it will take close to 2 depending upon the level of dirty dishes in the dishwasher. And don't rinse! They work better on dirty dishes.

LG model LDS5811WW/02 has never cleaned the dishes since first installation. Put clean dishes in and they will come out dirty too! Have tried all dishwasher soap types and brands and drying agents. Always...

if the soap/detergent isn't completely rinsing out of dispenser, it sounds like water isn't directed the top spray-arm. possible a defective vario motor; as it directs water to the water channel that supplies water to the middle and upper spray arms.

The washing cycle takes 2 hours to complete

Make sure the sani cycle is not selected, or pots and pans, also with the dry cycle most will take about 2 hours, if your dishes are not that dirty use the short cycle. Be sure your water is at least 130 F. Run hot water at faucet before starting the machine.

Dishes and inside the washer are not drying

Make sure that the drain hose is connected as per manufacturer instructions, and that there isn't a direct run down from the sink u-bend to the machine. The rinse agent effects dishes dry but has nothing with the water remaining in the machine. Good luck!
