Vertical lines I have borrowed a camera.  When I switch my camera on, there is no picture, only vertical lines.  Is it on some sort of setting or is the camera damaged.  I hope you can help. Thanks Scott

    Thankyou for your response Bubbabear64.
The vertical lines remain when you move the screen around.  The lines get wider apart if you zoom out.  Brighter objects appear brighter on screen but you cannot make out the picture because of the vertical lines.

    Thanks Scott

Yep the lines appear on the tape after recording.  Audio is OK.

I will take it to the shop
    Thanks again

If the lines appear on the tape this way when it is recorded, then the CCD unit is going out on the camcorder. If it isn't recording the lines then the viewfinder wiring or screen is damaged.

You should problably take it into a camera shop to see if its worth fixing.

Black screen when shooting vertically

I think there is some setting problem you must see the camera settings and check the vertical area. I think vertical settings are disturbed and you need to reset vertical settings.

Tv goes to straight line in center of picture then

It happens when Vertical deflection stops as Vertical Out IC becomes hot or does not get vertical signal.
Please check electrolytic capacitors and dry solder joints in vertical out section in TV.

A horizontal or vertical red line appears on picture.

Red lines are caused by glare. Avoid photographing shiny surfaces that reflect excessive amounts of light into your lens.
