As with the others my printer stopped working and all sorts of lights began flashing and the screen said reset power. I've taken the same steps as the other people with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

HP 6310 keep flashing lights in multiple areas and asking to Reset Power. Have done this a few times along with rebooting and still does not correct.

Any earlier solutions to this same problems that others have encountered?

    Thanks,

Power reset on HP Officejet 6301xi All-in-one produces flashing lights and all attempts to correct, including plugging into wall outlet and following "setup" commands recommended by HP cust service were unsuccessful.

Officejet 6310 won't turn on.

Ok try unplugging the printer for about 15 minutes and plug it back in that will reset the printer and it should work fine.
Let me know how it works out

Master Reset

I don't have a 6310 but I do have 4 printers one of which is a 5610. I never bothered w/ a reset switch because I would just turn the printer off, then unplug everying for 2min. Then I would reconnect everything back. If it doesn't work, I suggest you uninstall the software and reinstall it again. Let me know if this helps.

Hi. I just got off of the phone with an HP case manager. I was ready for a refund, but he helped me and now my printer is working fine. The key is to have your Officejet 6310 plugged directly into a wall socket. The variations of power through a surge protector often cause a power shortage to the unit. The 6310 needs the 110 volts to operate. Surge protectors will sometimes rob the unit of this power. Follow these steps:
1. Unplug the power cable & ethernet/usb cable from the unit (stand alone mode). Let it sit for a minute.
2. Plug the power cable directly into a wall socket. Then plug the power cable into the 6310.
3. After it powers up, push the "Setup" button.
4. Right arrow to "2.Print Report."
5. Press "OK" button.
6. Right arrow to "4.Self-Test Report."
7. Press "OK" button.
A page should print showing alignment and color settings. Now you're back in business!
