If the computer is prompting that the drive needs to be formatted, this means either the drive has become currupt (not likely) or that the drive hasn't been formatted or is an unrecognised format

if the hard drive was formatted on a Mac or Linux machine without choose Fat32 format, the drive will be prompted to be formatted under a windows machine

if there is no information on that drive, i'd suggest just formatting it

remember formatting a hard drive removes all information off that hard drive.

When I tried to open my samsung N150p it says that "Operating System not found" and then when I tried to look for the "SATA Port1" it says "none", how can I fix it?

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Hi Iam trying to install a SATA2 Samsung HM320II 320GB disk drive on my lenovo 3000 N200 Laptop but when I turn the computer on it says "FIXED DISK 0:" What do I need to do to resolve this...

The BIOS in your laptop has detected the SATA hard drive as "Fixed Disk 0" this is normal.
If you are trying to install Windows XP on this laptop, XP will not detect this hard drive because it does not have the SATA driver included in the XP installation CD.
For instruction on installing XP on your laptop with a SATA hard drive, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Please try to change the view type of the Folders.

2. open the harddrive, select search and search for all files and folders.
3. Connect same harddrive in other computer and check whether it detects all other folders.
If yes,
restart the computer and connect the hard drive again.

My westerndigital passport size hard disk of size 320gb when connected to system at starting 2 to 3 beep sounds i am hearing and the hard disk is not detecting what to do? naresh

Either the USB-to-disk-drive adapter inside the casing has failed,
or your USB port has failed,
or the disk-drive inside the casing has failed.

Try a different USB port. Try a different computer.

Disassemble the casing, and remove the disk-drive.
Temporarily attach it as a "slave" drive in a desktop computer,
and see if the drive is detected, and if the files are OK.

If all else fails, and the Passport is still under warranty, exercise the warranty.
