If you have all of the appropriate cables the iPod screen (on the CD player) should actually open automatically when you plug in your iPhone (or iPod). You can also open the program by clicking the iPod icon (once it's been connected).

Once the program is open you should have the option to click Music or Video. If you click Music then you should use the controls on the CD player to select and play your music. If you're trying to play video then use the iPod itself to control the playback.

Troubleshooting:
If the iPod screen is not opening once you plug in your device then there may be an issue with the cable. Verify that you have the correct iPod cable and that it's well connected to the mini-DIN connector on the back of the unit. It's not uncommon for that connection to come loose when installing the unit.

If you have additional questions please let me know. Best of luck!

The issue is your using the AUX cable and not the iPod cable. The AUX cable allows any audio source with a stereo jack to play through your cd player. To use this with your iPod you'll need to select the AUX input as the source, then using your iPod select and play your music selection (as if you were playing it through headphones).

You can't use the menu selection on your player to control your iphone without purchasing and installing the optional iPod cable.

  • Anonymous May 12, 2011

To select the AUX option on a 8940NT:

When the unit in turned ON, press the [POWER/SOURCE] button to toggle between
    the different modes as following:

RADIO – DVD – USB – IPOD – CDC – AV IN – AUX –RADIO

  • Anonymous May 12, 2011

If you're using the Aux cable (which plugs into the earphone jack) then you need to be using the AUX option.

You can hit the Power/Source button on the CD player until you see AUX selected.

  • Anonymous May 12, 2011

For it to play from your iPod you need to do the following:

    On your iPhone:
    1. Select the music you want to play and hit play. If the cable is unplugged you should hear it through the iPhone speakers.
    2. With the music playing, plug the AUX cable in to the head phone jack on your iPhone

    On your CD Player:
    1. Plug the AUX cable into the AUX port on the CD Player
    2. Using either the Power/Source Button on the CD player/ the Source button on the Remote, or the AUX icon on the screen - Enter the AUX mode
    3. Adjust the volume of the CD player and you should now here music from your iPod through your car speakers
    4. If you're not getting sound, verify the onscreen mute button is not selected and that your iPhone is still playing music.

If it's still not working the unit may be damaged or the AUX cable may be bad.

You would have to get one of the expansion cable;

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24637_IC-2-iPod-Connection-Cable.html

Otherwise you will have to use the Jack for the 'AUX' at the front of the unit to the socket for the earphones of the Ipod, then set the player to 'AUX' mode but the control for the playback would still be on the iPod.

  • Anonymous May 12, 2011

I see the model is different. No need then for the expander cable. If there is an option for the iPod use the cable that came with the iPod and connect it to the USB port of the radio. You should be able to control the selection via the car radio.

  • Anonymous May 12, 2011

If the cable you are referring to for the AUX ports of the unit are the RCA cables then you should use A/V and you should use the port at the front for the small jack.

How do I download songs onto my phillips gogear cam

  • Charge your Philips GoGear ViBE for at least three hours before turning it on.
  • 2 Insert the small end of your mini USB cable into your GoGear ViBE. Insert the other end of this cable into one of your computer's USB ports. Turn your GoGear ViBE on by pressing and holding the "Power" button for two seconds.
  • 3 Insert the Philips GoGear ViBE software disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Follow the onscreen prompts to install it.
  • 4 Open "Computer" from the "Start" menu and locate the GoViBE icon to make sure it has been successfully connected to your computer.
  • 5 Navigate to your music files. If you're unsure about their location, start by looking in the "Music" folder under the "Start" menu.
  • 6 Drag and drop your music files from their folder onto the GoViBE icon in your "Computer" window.
  • 7 Right-click the USB icon with the green arrow, located in your taskbar, to disconnect your device. Click "Safely Remove hardware," then wait until your computer confirms that it's safe to remove the device. Disconnect the USB cable from both your computer and your GoGear ViBE.
  • 8 Select the musical note icon from the main menu of your GoGear ViBE to open your music files. Navigate to the sub-folders section, and select a song from either the artist, album, track list or genre. Press the "Play/Pause" button to begin playing a song

I sync with my mp3 player on computer it loads then i press play on mp3 player no music but vol is on i save my music from cd straight to windows media player then sync with mp3 player

if its right you just copy the shortcut of the music from your cd to your windows media player, meaning you cannot play that song in the media player if the cd is not inserted, you have to rip first the cd to your pc then put it in your mp3. Also make sure that you rip it in the right format that your mp3 can play, media player automatically rip the music as wma not mp3, make sure your mp3 player can play wma.

maybe the music you are trying to play is protected as many music you buy over the internet is. try loading your player with music you ripped from a cd or make sure the protected music is transfered directly to your player with the program you bought the music with.
