Hello, i have a D-link wireless router 802.11g/2.4 Model DI-524 when i look at my internet wireles conection on my Computer doesnt show the D-Link name it just shows Other Network, i dont know why and i cant use it anymore, i write D-Link on the requiered field but it keeps showin me troubleshoot and it doesnt work i try to reset wireless router but shows the same problem i dont know how does this happend it just happend. Sorry for my english and thankyou

Check to see if this is the correct model. If so, change the "x"s to "h" in the link. Not sure if I can post live links here.

Re-config the router's WLAN, or rebuild, or reset your router, the username or password are admin and the IP usually 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1

If your Broadband modem is only with w/USB connection you have to change modem/router, you won't connect it with usb to di-524.

Hi Antonio, you need to make sure your routers wireless settings match the settings of the computers wireless adaptor. Both need to be exactly the same.

The status light is blinking in all dlink models, so that is normal.

The wireless radio issues have 3 possible solutions.

1. This model has a antenna that screws in the bnc socket behind it see if it's well screwed, or substitute it by another if 2 and 3 don't fix it.


2. On the advaced settings of the wireless configuration you have the ratio of radio broadcast from 25% to 100% check to see if it's on 100%, change channel to 11 if neer and 6 if far, make sure you have SSID broadcast enabled.


3. This models allow you to restart the AP unit and the router unit idependently, so it's always good pratice to restart your AP in the tools and system comands menu.

Please confirm that your Dlink Di 524 firmware is upgraded. With Vista the firmware update resolves the issue.

Make sure you can go online directly to the airtel broadband. If internet works fine, connect the D-Link router to the Beetle. That should be going to the Internet port or WAN port of the D-link. Then your PC to port 1. Try to power cycle both devices now. Unplug the power to the router first then to the modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Power on modem first, wait for the lights to go solid, then power on the router. Check if the internet works fine hardwired. If it is, wireless should work as well. Just connect to the signal coming from the D-link.

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) may have set the password for you. Try your phone number (without spaces) If that dosn't work go to the computer that has the Router attached and enter the IP address for the router. That will allow you to configure the passwords.

check the timeout when idle settings on the router. you need to set it to 0 for never break the connection.

other options are to upgrade the firmware of the router.

you should also isolate the problem by connecting the pc directly to the modem to make sure the same problem doesnt occur. if it does then contact your isp.
