I have a dell computer and the speakers are attacked to it but i cant hear anything. i checked if the cables were in the right place but they are and i still cant hear anything. i went to control panel and...

If everything is grayed out in the audio devices property in the control panel, that means there's a problem with your audio driver, first step I would take is to reboot your machine, hopefully it will come back.

If that fails, most Dell computers come with a Application CD, put the CD in the CD rom drive and have it reload the audio drivers back in.

Also make sure your speakers are plugged into the green port on back of your computer

The right speaker on my Bose Companion 3 works for a while then just stops working. I haven't changed anything on my computer setup. I checked and the plugs are inserted tightly.

Can you hear anything from it right now, such as scratching noise or something, if you can hear something, then check the audio input cables, or the output to the right speaker, try turning it or something.
If that method didn't works, then possibly there's two conditions:
1. Your right speakers burned, try replacing it with the new ones.
2. Your power board half damaged, the right channel is damaged or something.Maybe the IC's burned or maybe just some minor electronics parts that is not working properly.

Im not sure if its the computer or the speakers but i cant hear anything?and there on and look fine, just cant hear anything?

Make sure the speaker connection is connected in back of the cpu. Check device manager to see that the audio and all hardware is working properly. Open up sound from the control panel classic view sound to see if sound is working. Just a couple of ideas.

Speakers not working-- can only hear using headphones w/computer

unplug your headphones, and plug the speaker cord into that jack. its possible that the speakers you are using require power either by a cord or batteries and without them, it wont play sound. also, possible, your speakers are bad.

are you sure you have plugged in the speakers properly? maybe u inserted the cable in the wrong port or u just didnt insert the cable property. A loose connection can cause static and obviously it wont play anything. Please check.

My speakers wont install!

Try a headphone, if u cannot hear anything, you will need a driver for your soundcard. Post your computer model and i can get a link for download the drivers.

Good luck
