I think you need to check the color settings on your new LG TV and ensure all cables are securely connected. If the issue persists, you don't have further options except to contact LG support for assistance.

Consult the owner manual for the player (and or try it on another set) as many players have settings that can cause B&W or a single color display for the image.
it could be your flux capacitor is out. you might need to plug it in goto menus and check to see if ur runnin 21 gigawatts if not leave it plugged in and off for two days and it should refresh it
what output connection are you using? (svideo can cause this if it's not properly supported on both devices) What format is the video stream NTFS or PAL? some devices don't like one or the other format. This issue could be linked to your dvd player or your TV so please investigate what I have suggested and post back here if you have no luck :O)
This is a receiver issue and will need to be replaced as the internal hardrive has an issue that cannot be resolved onsite by a technician. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Since you're using a composite cable (yellow RCA) that carries both luma (brightness) and chroma (color) information, it's not the cable that is the problem.
That means it's either the DVD player itself, or the TV. If you have another video device (VCR, etc) that you can connect to the TV, try that. If the other device also goes from color to black and white, then it's your TV. Otherwise the problem is your DVD player.
Since your TV only has mono audio (white RCA, but no red) I would recommend getting a new TV if the TV is to blame.
Finally figured this out. On your remote push tv menu until you get to function. You should automatically be under col.sys. change this to NTSC. Took me awhile to get remote to work here, ended up pushing in the middle of the red vol +,- bar on the right of the remote. Couldn't find the right button according to the directions on the screen. DVD is now in color!! If you are not already on the option to change col.sys, use the red channel up down bar on the left of the remote.
