When logging into the voicemail for a Nortel T7316E i get the Mbox Locked warning. I have followed the steps to reset my password and have successfully done that. I then proceed to access my voicemail with the defaul 0000 password but still get the same warning. Is there anything else i should try.

You're resetting the wrong password. Keep in mind that mailbox numbers and extension numbers are not always the same. When you're resetting the password, make sure that the EXT assigned to it is the right one !! If you're resetting the reception mailbox, it's usually mailbox 100 (regardless of what the extension number is)

it's not the admin line. It does not give me the chance to put in ambox number. I dial F 983 and 1002000# fro 4-digit ext but then it never gives me a MBOX prompt

I am unable to unlock my voicemail on my Nortel 7316 phone system

You would need to log in as the voicemail admin using "Feature 983" followed by 102 (if you have 3 digit extension numbers) then the voicemail admin password. From there you can select MBOX and reset the password to 0000 for the mailbox in question.

My Nortel phone NT8B27JAAE6 has locked me out of the voicemail. Can you tell me how to reset it???? Thanks Agatha

Feature 983 log in is 120000 (if 2 digit extension, 1020000 if 3 digit, 10020000 if 4 digit extensions)
Select Mbox, enter that locked extensions mail box number, You will see password RESET. Select RESET. Release out. This will reset that mail box password to 0000. Use feature 981 on that phone and enter the new default password of 0000. you will then be prompted to change the password.

Feature 985 will show you the extension of the line you are using.
