Panasonic SDR-H80 Hard Drive Camcorder Logo
Posted on May 10, 2011

I've just gotten my Panasonic SDR-H80 and was pleased with it until I tried to upload my Images/Videos to my computer. It says that it needs to be turned on, but this is powered by a battery. I need to take out the battery in order to plug in the USB, so my computer cannot recognize it because it's not turned on. I tried finding a power source but I don't know where to plug it in, since it doesn't fit in the battery spot of my laptop or any of the headphones. Those are the only places I could think of. Please help ASAP? Thanks!

My panasonic sdr-h80 will not power on! I have fully charged battery and am freaking out because I have not saved my videos yet. it gets absolutely no power??

This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Hi there, I have changed computers and no longer have the software to import my videos off my Panasonic SDR-H80. Is there somewhere I can find the software? How do I go about fixing this?

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in transferring videos from the Camcorder to the Computer without using the supplied CD ROM. Please note that the driver and software from the supplied CD ROM is not required to transfer videos from the Camcorder to the Computer.

Once you connect the Camcorder to the computer, the Camcorder will recognize as a removable drive under My Computer. You can copy the required videos from the Removable drive.

Please follow the below guidelines for connecting the Camcorder to the Computer.

Once you connect the Camcorder to the Computer, you will get a display to select the media. Select Either HDD or SD card from the option shown in the LCD screen.

You will get the removable drive under My Computer. Please see the below picture to view the folder structure.

Here is the link for the website to download the software that was originally packaged with your camera. This would be the best option for uploading to the computer. From there you can use all sorts of software to manipulate or edit.

Bad cable, computer problem or mode setting on camcorder.Last resort is using a box made by Dazzle which allows you to use the AV out of the camera which would go to the dazzle box,and then to the computer via usb cable

Importing Video to PC with Panasonic SDR-H80

There should be an extra cable that plugs into the battery charger and then into the camcorder to supply power to the camcorder.
