I have a norelco arcitec shaver and the heads no longer turn. I haven't had it that long so of course very disappointed with the razor. I would like to take it apart to clean it, thinking there may be hairs caught in the blades which is stopping them from turning but it doesn't seem that there is any way to take the blades out to clean them...stupid design! I am hoping that I am missing something. If I have to replace the blades every time they jam up with hairs, this razor is indeed expensive trash can bait.

Changing the head on Arcitec models is very easy. It doesn't come apart like older models. For the Arcitec model you simply pull off the entire head assembly and snap on a complete new assembly. See diagram at the link below

When the battery is almost empty (when there are only 5 or fewer shaving minutes left), the battery symbol lights up red.

Make sure that the battery does not have a memory effect. What I suggest is taking the shaving head unit off and running the shaver till empty, then recharging. Check if the red light is still flashing.

There's also a head indicator at the bottom of some shavers.

To remind you to replace the shaving unit, the shaving unit symbol flashes (all types) and you hear a beep when you switch off the shaver (RQ1090 only). This happens at the end of 7 successive shaves to remind you to replace the shaving unit.
