HP J5780 All in One Printer - fatal error on hpzwrp01.exe file - HP say it is a Vista Problem but amazing how other printers work OK. Did get printer working but not scanner but then error codes occurred - HP advised to reinstall and now nothing works!

Try installing a universal print driver from the hp website, you may have to do a full uninstall and reinstall.

2. Install software 'Dial-A-fix'. (Dial-a-fix is a collection of 'known fixes' that have been compiledover the past year that really knock out some serious Windows problems....)

4. Restart your computer, run the HP CD, you should have no problem. (don't connect the printer/device until the HP Setup prompts you to)

I had this problem too, and after a while just gave up on the uesless HP interface, and went to the simple but efficient Windows Fax and Scan program on the Start>Programs menu.

You can install an instance of the Deskjet 6500 series drivers using "Add Printer", local printer, (use the same port the J5780 is installed on). You can have this co-exist with the J5780 driver and you could name it J5780 Duplex if you wish.

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

There are alot of fatal error messages. You need to provide the exact fatal error message.
Here are the basic troubleshooting for that type of error :
1. Turn off your firewall, anti-virus and spyware and then install it
if it will not work
2. Download the software for your printer in the website www.hp.com/support make sure that you are going to download and install the full feature of the software

If you are not able to find the digital imaging monitor, then search for the file hpqtra08.exe and run.
