DTC P0725 - ENGINE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT
When Monitored: Continuously after a ignition key is turned from the OFF to RUN position and/or key is turned from the CRANK to the RUN position. Set Condition: The code is set when the engine speed sensed by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is different than the engine speed reported by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) over the Communication Buss. POSSIBLE CAUSES - LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE - BAD CONNECTIONS AT VARIOUS CONNECTORS - CRANK POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL OPEN - CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN - TCM CRANK POSITION SENSOR MONITORING DEFECTIVE
The possible causes for you it can be connectors, it can be the module
and it can be the wiring is damaged somewhere or a bad crank sensor.
Hope helps.
Without knowing make or model Po725 is a Chrysler code for Engine Speed Sensor Circuit
Possible Causes-
- Open or shorted CKP sensor circuit condition
- Poor CKP sensor electrical connection
- Check communication error between the ECM and TCM
- Failed CKP Sensor
When is the code detected-
The P0725 Codes is triggered when TCM does not receive the engine speed signal from ECM.
Chrysler description-
The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the engine speed through the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor with the engine running, and send signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM
Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
Possible Causes:
The TCM circuit is shorting to ground, B+ or is openTCM has failedECM has failed
